INTRODUCTION
I played the "Citiyfight" scenario today and I want to post my opinions on it. The game was 3000 points Necrons (Scarab Conflict) vs Orks (Ghazgkull). We both agreed to play 3000 points and as a surprise I suggested we play a scenario today. So we chose randomly one of the Total War scenarios and hit it with Cityfight.
USED ARMIES
I had severeal Monolith Maniples, a Warbarque, one Pylon, a 3ish Monolith formation and 4 infantry formations, he had one big Boyz mob, 3 Blitz Brigades, 2 Kult of Speed, SupaStompa and Stompaz, Landa and some Airforce. I used a Tomb Complex, which usualy exchanges the Blitz objective. This is not possible here since the scenario uses areas of interest. We agreed that I would be able to use the ROI nearest to my table edge as a Tomb Complex. This seemed to be fair first, but I think the TC should still touch the table edge, balance wise. To be fair, I picked one terrain feature by myself to be in minimum distance to the edge.
TIME
The game took us about 3 hours including talking, setting up the table, reading and understanding the scenario rules and after action discussion. I am still green with Necrons (4 games with them, 2-3 against), he is familiar with his Orks (2 tourneys, many games against me and other fellows in the area). Take that into consideration when you think about the time. I think it can easily be done in about two and a quarter hours.
MISSION AND SPECIAL RULES
Your mission is different then in the tournament scenario, the greatest plus: ONE Formation ONE Region of Interest. That is really great, this way big scouting formations can't just take and hold 2+ objectives in the last round (Valkyries/Stormtroopers anyone?). Also the exchange of Blitzkrieg for the "defeat half the enemy or more" are a nice twist.
The wracks seemed to be rather annoying than useful in the first place, but this came from ill preparement on our side. If I think back it saved my left flank since he didn't run through his burning, wrecked Blitzbrigade with his BTS Stompa Mob and instead circled around it. It probably left a "unsure about it" expression because we both use bases for our vehicles - which looks plain stupid if you flip the vehicles over

OUTCOME
The game was very fun to play, a welcomed change from our regular gaming sessions and hell, was it bloody. We had about 10 or 12 assault moves in the first three turns. I have never experienced a game which so many assaults before. I will definetly try and play the other EPIC:TW scenarios while recommending this in my gaming group.
PS: Necron won 4:0 (BTS missing)
