Hi People
Some feedback. This past weekend I played a 3000 point game against a Lost and the Damned army. The Warlord came along.
I found it very difficult to bring him into play. His 15cm move essentially forces you to double or possibly even march on the first turn in order to bring him up into a potentially usefull position.
My oponent made use of cover to keep most of his formations away from the Warlord, resulting in a target poor environment!! On the other hand, the half of the table where the titan was was pretty much mine, again because of my opponent keeping most his units out of range/LOS. I think there was just one situation where the Warlord managed to bring all his weapons to bear and make them count. A sustained fire on one of his hoards which were lining up for an assault. Needless to say the 16+1 shots on sustained managed to break the formation. Other shots the Warlord took did break the formations, but they were 4 unit formations and one time due to the '10cm terrain' affect, could only fire on 2 of the 4 units in the formation, bringing down 17 shots on 2 lol.
So, I am still in two minds as to the value of the Warlord. Most certainly he did not manage to shoot all that much, but his presence on the battlefield certainly affected the game in a big way, with him dominating the region he was in. In addition, the two LaTD Subjugators spent turns 1 and 2 hiding from the Warlord, and therefore did not fire at all in those turns, so I guess he paid off there as well. (Stupidly I later CC'd those Subjugators with my bikes and lost without scratching them...)
One could bring in 3 Warhounds plus small change for the cost of a Warlord, and have much better maneuvrability...
I have not yet played a 3000 pointer with 2 Warhounds so it would be interesting to see how they performed compared to the Warlord. Certainly with their 30cm move they would be much more mobile.
As an aside, I won the game on points

- but to be fair, my opponent had limited himself by choosing not to include any traitor units in his army selection (testing list mod options)
