What's the scale of Epic:Armageddon? How much distance does, say, 10cm translate to?
(I'm thinking of making a "crashd rok" terrain piece, which I can do by buying a 30cm polystyrene hemisphere, if it's to scale...)

Yes Epic is around 1/300 to 1/285 scale. But remember game scale and model scale are a bit different. Jervis talks about this in the original E:A downloads. I'll see if I can find it. However an Ork Roc in Epic scale would be VERY BIG, IMO !

I think 30cm will be a little small, but then so what. It could be part of the larger structure or a broken off piece etc. As long as it looks good, and the weaponry etc on the structure are to scale, I wouldn't worry.

According to the EA FAQ, each turn is 15 minutes, and 30cm is 1km.

doh, that makes the average rok over a meter in diameter. Might have to go to plan B: rok fragment.

Why not? They arent too aerodynamic and would be prone to orbital entry damage.
..you could have a big door for the telyporta, and have reinforcements pour out of it!
How about a Hulk Fragment...that would be cool too...

Yup ! That's what I remember reading too Markco ! Thanks ! And you could still make a small Roc, maybe more like a big Drop Pod or Drop Roc ... they are Orks, so everything doesn't have to be uniform or even logical ! WAAAARGH !

Hi!
Interesting. I think Epic A would be the first epic version to have a formal scale mentioned.

Primarch | Yeah, I was surprised that Jervis gave the time and groundscale details. Previously when pressed he has said that these details were up to players, plus each tank could represent one tank or a platoon of tanks etc.

Hi!
While actual scale is always something to debate amongst players, it always good when the designer clears it up from the get go, instead of it getting argued over. I also think it gives the rules a certain "credibility" and constancy which are important in any rules.

Hi all
Just to let you know about a recent Epic A clash between myself and Cybershadow (yes I finally got round to doing a report on it Cy!). The battle report and pictures can be found at the following website
http://www.angelfire.com/space2/newangl ... etown.html
As with all our recent battles they are loosely based on historical encounters. In this case the battle of Villers Bocage in 1944. More info on that particular fight can be found at this url

Thanks for the report with pics. It always brings back fond memories when I see someone using SM1 buildings!
