I referred to an insane amount of proposals, not to insane proposals. ?Most of the proposals themselves make at least a modicum of sense.

Unfortunately, the sheer volume of the proposals is (for me, anyway) preventing meaningful discussion. ?Every thread rapidly generates discussion on 2 to 3 additional alternative proposals. ?It's not uncommon for discussion to degenerate into "My version!" ?"No, my version!" with very little progress being made.

This is not to be derogatory to anyone who is participating. ?They are polite, sincere, and generally have good ideas and solid arguments. ?It's just very a chaotic process and does not seem to be productive.

========

BTW, how do I go edit the title of this thread so I can fix that typo?

Ive said a few times in the AMTL section that it is quite confusing...I get pretty lost but Im determined to wade through it. Myself and a couple of others (Dysartes comes to mind   :;): ) have been trying to shift the discussion to a slightly 'broader' view, so that we dont get so bogged down in the details.

Progress is being made, and Ive certainly started to follow stuff and feel some things were being resolved recently...but in the last 24 hours (which sounds daft even as I write it) there seem to be a load of new topics that are gonna take a while to digest and get in to...

In response to the sheer number of proposals nealhunt...what Ive found is that actually making your opinion a proposal is the best way to get it acknowledged and responded to. It kinda logs it as an 'event' almost, that people actually see, rather than comments on someone else's work, which can get lost...but I will certainly grant it can get a little out of hand at times... :)

You need to use the 'Edit this Topic' link at the bottom of thepage, rather than the usual edit button on the post.  :-:

Reaversbane:  I understand that.  It just wears me out.  No worries, though.  I really think it will be more "stable" (for lack of a better term) once there is a playtest list posted.

BTW, you can just call me Neal instead of using the screen name.

Cybershadow:  I don't see it.  I see track, email, and print, and down at the very bottom in the Topic Options, it says "Close this topic."  Am I just blind?

Do you need to be a moderator to edit topic titles?

I agree that with so many suggestions floating arround the only thing left to do now is to hand it over to Jervis and let him go through it. The result will probably tick a bunch of people off because their suggestions weren't used but in the end the playtest board is their to help the game designers develop ideas, NOT to tell Jervis how he should make his game.

Cheers!

First I want to thank those who voiced support. Yes it is a job far more involved then I understood it to be.

Neil is right, it is not that any one idea or point of view is insane, it is the volume that makes it hard sometimes. Also there are one or two people who post their point of view many times, thus creating the illusion there is support for their ideas. I must filter through a lot of stuff. Further, there are some who argue with both sides. This is hard as well.

Jervis has asked me to help pull a list together. If I understood him, the idea is we help get a basic "Start". Then he will tweak it to suit his point of view. Then we place it out for the general public on the vault. The plan is after a while it will take shape into the list that will be published.

I figure my role is to help organize the ideas and try and build toward that first basic list using Jervis' guidance. It has not been easy, that is for sure.  :(

But the group of guys have been nice for the most part. There has been almost no flame wars and the ideas have been solid.

I look forward to seeing what Jervis comes up with from our efforts.

Yes much Kudos to you on this dafrca! Like neal I am overwhelmed by most of it... pretty much i have decided that i have to be realistic about my time limitations and just restrict my involvemnt to helping Maksim with the nids... speaking of which I must pop over and see what is happening on that front ???

Groan - wish I could, but it's a bit far from Malta....
Hadn't seen the reports, thanks for the link Chris. I like your army list, although I'd probably have tried to include more flyers myself - can't resist them, even if it goes beyond tactical considerations!

Chris, what restrictions are there on armies wrt Epic at this tournie? In case you hadn't guessed, will I be able to fetch the AMTL out to play?

BTW, is anyone attending the Triples event at Sheffield on the 19/20th?

Last year it were that anything in the Vault were fair game. The winning army were Tau.

I thought Triples was a convention rather than an event? Or have I just missed the contest bits when I've been before.

And yeah, I'm gonna be at the Club Challenge. I'm probably gonna be playing host to half of team SMITE, so I'd better be going.
