Oh god, I am so looking foward to cluttering up tables and doing points counts... only 4 weeks of overwork at university left, then MONTHS of epicing!!!

Just one thing - which epic points system are we talking about and what ratios exist between them?!

Congrats Dafrca - on the 20K and the apprenticeship!
But please spare the more linguistically challenged of us in the Med - when I read the thread title I thought you'd driven over a boxful of guard or something....quite distressing.  :(

Will take Dafrca's advice, clutter up the table and report back in due course :p

Great, I am so looking forward to hearing from you.  :D

I am sure you will have fun doing it.  :;):

OK, I was using the Epic Armageddon Basic Imperial Guard list and the "Use As" listing for the older minis.

As to a Ratio for the other editions, I do not know. Someone else with more experiance will have to tell you that one.  :D

Sorry, that was not my intent. :{

Hi!

On a cursory view netepic points to models involved is higher. So for a given points value there are more models on the table than Epic A.

I'm still working on a direct comparison, but on one example I did the difference was as high as 50%.

So my 20k is only 10k in netepic?  :o

So I guess I need to make up my list in both so I know where I stand.

I am loony you know, so I do things like that.  :p

One nice thing in the NetEpic list I will get to count things like my Imperator Titans, so maybe it will not be so bad. :D

Hi!

This topic sparked my curiosity and made me take out the books and compare them. I made one major mistake. The list I mainly focused on was the Epic A SM one. Depending on how you constuct it the differene between costs and models averages about 20%, more if you buy more units where the difference is greater.

The IG list is another story. The price per unit, if I figured correctly correctly are almost identical. While the organizations between the two rules are different the final price for the same amount of models is pretty darn close.

So you 20k IG in Epic A ARE 20k in netepic, pretty much! :)

The ork list is harder since Epic A has different size warbands, but preliminarily the cost per unit between the two systems are close to each other.

So in summary, epic A is a LOT closer to netepic points-wise than Epic 40k was.

I consider that a good thing! :)

Oh boy, me too, me too.  :D

But I will still try doing a full list in NetEpic just for fun.  :;):

Man, am I envious!

My IG can break the 10K barrier only with help from Titan Legions. :(
