I just dont know... On one hand I agree that seperating out the sites would be good, particularly if I can keep the www.epic40k.co.uk domain which is now well established.
On the other hand, this could be a new start and the new site could be even better, and it is a great opportunity, particularly as I am not happy with the domain any more. There are lots of things that could be changed to make a site using what I have learned from the existing site.
As for the forums, I am determined that no matter what else changes, these boards will remain practically unchanged. I will not split the boards into two, as keeping the member list here is the best way to keep the boards lively for both games. When I talk about reorganising, I mean that the different parts of the board may be re-ordered. For example, right now we have five 'areas' - web sites, background, wargames, painting and converting, and general. I may change this to have something like - web sites, epic, battlefleet gothic, other games, and general. All the boards would stay, but for example the battlefleet gothic area would contain boards dealing with battlefleet gothic background, bfg rules, and the dry dock (painting and converting).
Is this any clearer?
Incidently, I have been thinking about this a lot... if I decide to move the site to a new domain/url, does anyone have any suggestions. Ideally, I want an address that applies equally to the Epic and Gothic games, while not being tied to a particular edition (such as Armageddon), and still encompasses other games if the wind takes me in that direction in the future. Oh, and it needs to be cool, too!
I wanted to get something like www.warhound.net - but it is already taken! And ideas?
