Hi!

Dafrca, all I do is what you suggest, keep same type of models within one detachment, while separate detachments may have different models.

I agree with the issue of scale. I don't know if this makes me anal retentive but I absolutely hate having different style figures in the same detachment. Just as well that I don't play Orks then! :)

Even having them in different detachments, as primarch suggested, makes me a bit uneasy.

So there is unfortunately only one answer. Multiple armies!! never a probem for gamers at the best of times but even easier in Epic scale.

So one army will be only new shiny Epic A figures. Another will be purely old TL era figures. And could probably squeeze in 3rd with E40k style figures.

Problem solved!!
:D
Cheers

James

I use everything from all Epic releases from SM1 on, in my 9 Epic armies.  Scale is never going to be 100%, but we adapt and work with it !  :;):

Though im not exactly a scale "snob" I also try to maintain at least some degree of scale coherency within each army but since I'm developing several different IG armies I don't mind eg. haveing metal Baneblades in one army and FW ones in another. It's only when they get mixed up things start getting messy (like having StormHammers and FW Super Heavies in the same army). Though I really llike the level of detail on the FW flyers I'll probably never buy them since the scale difference is just too big IMO. (only exception might be the Ork Bommerz -Orks don't really care too much about coherency anyway...)
I actuallly prefer the smaller metal flyers since it adds to the feeling of massive scale to have thhings as small as possible... I know it sounds strange, but I prefer my tanks and Infantry as small as possible and my titans as big as possible. ...But then again the bigger the models the more detail -it's allways a dilemma... :-:

I've ordered the SG Valks and Vultures and will probably stick to those. Only problem is that the suggestion of adding door gunners sounds really cool but might be a bit more difficult on the smaller metal models.
Hmmm... I wonder where I put those Ork warbyuggy gunners... Would probably loook great with the FW Valk... I feel a conversion coming on... :blues:

Cheers! :)

Hi!

With me, since I've accumulated so much stuff, scale tends to be meaningless since who would notice a size discrepency when theres thousands of points on the board...

...not me for sure...  :D

Just recieved my Valks and vultures yesterday. I snapped a scale photo showing it compared to a standard infantry base so perhaps once someone gets the FW version they can do the same and you can compare them that way. Anyway you should get the general idea of it's size this way.

Unfortunately we cannot upload images on this part of the foruum so I've just posted the image in the "What are you all working on at the moment thread.

Cheers! :)

Hi!

I should get the FW valkyries by months end, so I'll put up comparison photos as soon as I get them. But by judging from other fliers the FW one will be much bigger.

Primarch,

I would love to see them side by side. I will wait to order to see your picture.

I mean, it is not like I do not have a lot to do. I mean with my latest buy and then the Rice Gretchin... :p

Don't ask, it is another thread.

Hi!

The minis are released May 21, so I expect before the months end I should have them.

Primarch,

Not to bug, just curious. Did you get both of the models?

I would love to see the two side by side.

I'll have to reorder the F/W Valkyries, I guess ...  I'll wait until I see the new F/W NL and reorder them and the Tau Sentry Turrets plus anything else New for Epic !  And I have a mostly Ork E:A preorder from G/W US that should be here about 2 weeks ... :)
