We still use the SM1 rules that states you can dismount your troopers, for the Old Guard. ?Which really makes them more like "Light Horse" or mounted Infantry, like Cossacks, than Traditional Cav. :)

This also makes more sense in a WH40K type enviroment. The mounts help move the troops faster and are easier to replace (limited Technology fluff). The troops are just infantry with cheeper transports.

They are (according to the picture in WD) the E40K ones (ie the Atilla the Hun versions).

I checked

the picture in WD is of the new version

the picture I remember was on the online store

You swines! The F/W valkyries are too nice not to have a sizeable detachment. As for scale, well if its meant to take 2 bases it needs to be at least a rhino with wings if not more, a hell it looks so nice!
Looks like lots of the penal battalion will get dropped of in places they'ed rather not be!

I gave up waiting for the metal valkaries and went straight for the hardcore resin versions which will leave me bankrupt :)
If any one who has metal or resin ones, can they be easily converted to have door gunners on them?
     Cheers.

Hi!

I'm getting somewhat ticked off that they charged me and yet no product.

Once 30 days go buy, they will feel my displeasure..... :L

Sounds bad. I've not had such problems with them even while changing address.Hope it all goes well for you. I have also noticed that it is advisable to buy FW products as soon as launched becuse the quality does start to slip after a couple of months. One set of Tau inf was of very borderline quality indeed, so it may be worth the wait to get the figs' while they are still top notch.
cheers.

Dafrca:  I just want to thank you for the work you are doing on the playtest board.

You know I'm pretty hardcore about that stuff, and I find myself unable to wade through all that.  Cheers to you for the effort you must be putting into it.

I hope that when the list gets a JJ review and posted to the vault that some of the insane amount of alternative proposals go away. :oo

Thanks again.

INdeed! :O  I gave up trying to folow all those threads months ago!
I guess I'm just not playtest material a I really don't like to argue on for ages about details, if this and that is fair or trying to make sense of all the insane ammount of numbercrunching! :p
I just have a few unitlls I'd like to see in the list and a few ideas how they could be included. Anything beyond that is not really my cup of tea.

Thanks for your efforts Daf. It is crazy that the AM/TL forum is growing bigger than the painting/modelling forum and you find the time to not only read, but also make sense of it all.

Cheers! :)

Indeed- and to echo WMN, I have found it hard to keep up with all of the long threads on unit selection and weapon stats.

I am sure that JJ will have appreciated the sheer amount of hard work that you have put in to getting a first draft playtest list up.

Cheers

James

Hear, hear, keep up the good work Dafrca. I've only skimmed through the 'finalised' list periodically rather than wade through the discussions, it's just too much work for me!

Just out of interest, neal, what do you think falls under the heading of "more insane proposals"?
