I'm starting to collect an army of Knights and wondering how WE formations work in practice with their differing rules.

Do hits get allocated to each knight individually and then saves made separately for each one? So it could be possible to have multiple damaged knights throughout the formation. Or do people in practice speed roll and have only one that can be damaged at a time?

If a formation of knights is engaged by Terminators can a knight use FF attacks on Terminators in contact with a different knight in the formation? The section in the rules is worded for individual war engines and I interpret the specification of CC attacks being used against those in base contact and FF against those that aren't to refer to that particular WE, so that FF against an enemy in contact with a different knight would be allowed, but the wording is unclear and I'm not sure.

You roll all the hits then apply them to the knights up to their DC (so five hits would be 2 hits on 2 knights and one hit on a third) this means you can have multiple damaged knights in a formation (like you can with IG superheavy formations)

Knights can FF against units in btb with other knights in the formation provided they have LOS (knights block LOS being WE) just remember which FF hits can hit which models

Great, thanks! That was what I thought / hoped but I was rusty on the WE formation rules having not used then in a while. The knights are a bit better than I thought when first looking at the list then :)

Also it's a good thing my knights will be on custom oval bases then, as I can place some sideways (arcs allowing) giving other knights better LOS.

Oh God, another reason to to charge in sideways...

I had wondered similar things, and my answers were the same as in this thread, so yay!

It's not a sideways charge for Knights they are just fencing with their opponents.
