Next time go for 1 warlord guarding the blitz and then reavers to take objectives. It would probably helpto rollbetter with the dice too... :-P

Thanks for the report. Definitely an Ouch game.

As for suggestions on how to change things, I would be tempted to go with a Quake Cannon / Carapace Landing Platform for some much needed first turn long range fire. I am also toying with the idea of taking a Missile per Warlord, either Barrage or Deathstrike again for the first turn fire as the last thing you want to do is to be over exposing your titans in the first turn.

I think i would run a list like this for 4K points:

Incompertus, 4000 POINTS
Legio Gryphonicus (NetEA v3.24 *APPROVED*)
==================================================

WARLORD TITAN [975]
Legate, Carapace Multi-Lasers, 2 Quake Cannon, Carapace Landing Pad, Laser Burner

REAVER TITAN [750]
Veteran Princeps, Carapace Multi-Lasers, Laser Burner, Gatling Blaster, Plasma Destructor

REAVER TITAN [750]
Veteran Princeps, Carapace Multi-Lasers, Laser Burner, Gatling Blaster, Plasma Destructor

WARHOUND TITAN [275]
Vulcan Megabolter, Plasma Blastgun

CRUSADER SCOUT MANIPLE [150]
4 Crusader Robots

CRUSADER SCOUT MANIPLE [150]
4 Crusader Robots

THUNDERBOLT SQUADRON [150]
2 Thunderbolts

THUNDERBOLT SQUADRON [150]
2 Thunderbolts

WARHOUND TITAN PACK [500]
2 Vulcan Megabolter, 2 Plasma Blastgun

THUNDERBOLT SQUADRON [150]
2 Thunderbolts

Warlord being the BTS would also guard the blitz and sustain on everything in range. Reavers would move together to secure T&H objectives that i would place 30cm apart right on the midline.
Warhounds would take care of artillery and formations that stayed in opponents deployment zone...

Ouch for sure. Without going quite so far as Mordoten to adjust you list, I'd definitely drop most of the volcano cannons on the warlords. Titan armies need to be able to hit hard and do a lot of damage to formations each time they shoot. Volcano cannons only tag one unit and very few armies field enough WE to make that worthwhile.

I'd also think seriously about combining at least two of the Warhounds into a packs as well. Singles are easy to pick off an that many singles against a force that can put that much damage on a titan is going to start stacking up BM for the god machines rule pretty fast.

You also need some smaller blocking formations to help prevent or at least delay assaults on your titans.

Maybe something like this:
WARLORD TITAN [875]
2 Gatling Blaster, 2 Apocalypse Missile Launcher, Carapace Multi-Lasers

WARLORD TITAN [925]
2 Turbo-laser Destructor, Gatling Blaster, Plasma Destructor, Carapace Multi-Lasers

WARLORD TITAN [825]
2 Gatling Blaster, 2 Laser Burner, Carapace Multi-Lasers

THUNDERBOLT SQUADRON [150]
2 Thunderbolts

THUNDERBOLT SQUADRON [150]
2 Thunderbolts

WARHOUND TITAN PACK [500]
2 Plasma Blastgun, 2 Vulcan Megabolter

WARHOUND TITAN [275]
Vulcan Megabolter, Plasma Blastgun

CRUSADER SCOUT MANIPLE [150]
4 Crusader Robots

CRUSADER SCOUT MANIPLE [150]
4 Crusader Robots

If you don't want to risk not having a legate, you can drop one of the CML and upgrade or use the points to net a couple of TLD on the warhounds.

This was a fun game, the dice certainly went my way i would say, the big gamble was the strategy on turn 2 i positioned with the gamble of winning which to be fair was in my favour, but in saying that if i had lost that roll this would have had a VERY different result. All in all though a enjoyable game and good times had by all, Except maybe the poor buggers dealing with reactor meltdowns.
