I believe they were a micro machines style toy called "action force" or similar. I know I certainly had quite a few pieces from their ranges - still have some that I used to used for colour scheme test models rather than waste a precious leman Russ!

They also did ranges of HUGE fighting vehicles. I had (might still have somewhere in the loft...) a number of them including an 18 inch long mobile command centre - think CI on steroids. Rather cool at the time & most of them have been pillaged for weaponry & useful gubbinz in more recent years

I havent seen them around in many yeas though.  :D

At the Friday Night Game this past week, I had an interesting time playing against a very nasty Eldar player. I was playing OGBM, and he Ulthwe. My army choice was not a welcome suprise, and turned out defeating the eldar, albeit very narrowly as it came down to points. Something happened in this game however, that was hard to figure out what to do with. After one of my Soopa Stompahs laughed at the first assault, which included the Avatar, it was killed in a second assault by a nearby eldar formation. These two formations in consecutive full movement consolidations moved up to prepare another assault for the Vampire Raiding Aspects on my Kustom Gargant and Grotnought. The Grotnought died, and the Kustom Gargant did in fact lose the assault, but lived through despite about 25 hits scored on it, many of which were MW. It only killed the Avatar, and a couple of Aspect Stands. Then something very very orky happened. One of the hits that got through the Gargant's armor critted, and this sent him rampaging through one of the supporting guardian formations, killing about 4-5 stands.

This brings up question 1. Do these deaths count in anyway towards the assault? We rulled that they did not because they were A. on a supporting formation, not the one that engaged. B. Because it was a crit reaction, not hits in the assault.

So, that broke that guardian formation, and the Gargant was broken as well. I wanted him to keep as many foes busy as possible, so I recharged him into all three formations with the gargant's double withdrawl move.

Next Turn. I 8bp Soopah Gun the entire mess with Da Great Gargant. I killed some more aspects and hit the gargant, but did it no damage. This broke the aspects and they moved away from the base of the gargant. This is my other question, were they alowed to move out of base contact? We ruled they could, but I just want to make sure.

Charging Barging War Engines reek havoc among other units before, during and after assaults. I think I will always take one now, and pray that infantry afte rinfantry charge and die at their feet.

Disclaimer: I was going to post these questions at the specialist games site, but I can't remember any of my info on logging in there. I shared it with this group. Hope you can help and enjoy orky stomping deffs

No kidding.  Michael is a very, very good Eldar player.

I'd say both calls were correct.  Hits on supporting formations shouldn't count for resolution, but should count for BMs on the "target" formation.

Units can move out of base contact.  There are no special "pinning" rules concerning actual contact, so it would be treated just like any situation where you were in someone else's ZoC.

I can't tell from the description whether you did it this way but just to be clear, broken formations cannot support an assault.  I know the Avatar from the first failed assault could have moved into base contact, which would then draw him into any assault on the target.  However, he wouldn't be able to use FF support and if there were any other troops in a combined assault, they would not be able to participate at all.

Oh, no, they won the assalt and brok the Soopa Stompah, but didn't hurt it..

A rippa fist and a mega choppa got revenge.. although it didn't do anything since the avatar dies at the end of the turn anyway, and he is worth zero points, but it feels good to destroy things with gargants.. I will ALWAYS take a Kustom Gargant when playing OGBM.
