I can't see the $70 quote anywhere, must be going blind. I did see the ?36 price tag in the UK, is that what you're basing your figure on? As a UK based customer, I don't have much problem with that if its a full colour WD sized mag as I've heard.

If that's the case ... I probably will not resub to W/D ... IIRC that is expensive too ... I may only get Fanatic Mag ! Madness ... absolute Madness !!!

Quote (primarch @ 27 2004 Mar.,01:05) | At current exchange rates it places the subscription cost at around 65 dollars.
I know of no other magazine outside of medical journals that would warrant such a high price. | ah but other magazines are subsidised by taking advertising....
GW only take advertising from themselves which doesn't actually help with the costs issue....
Actually I have no idea why White Dwarf has "adverts" in it, I would prefer more editorial content, rather than lots of "adverts".

I loathe advertising, Spam, junk mail, etc. ... so I guess we get what we pay for ... I really don't mind G/W ads in W/D, because they usually interest me, but non-G/W, F/W, hobby, modeling, etc., would annoy me.

Hi!
Not having ads in their publication is their corporate choice, but I dont think "I" as a consumer should support financially that choice paying a high subscription cost, especially when most of their publications are mere "ad-rags".
IF it were wholely content and no ads of any kind, I would consider it (and thats a BIG if), but given their usual ad to content ratios I doubt it.

I believe most of the important stuff that will be in the mags will eventually be posted as pdf files on their relevent websites (ie Epic, BFG, Warmaster, etc). Although, I would love to support Fanatic and get their mag, if the subscription price is as high as some feel it may be then I'll just download what I want from the sites.

Hi!
I would worry about articles and such since they'd probably make an "annual" like they do for the other systems and you can get what you need that way or by simple downloads of PDF's.

36 pound is the same price as WD subscription. So whatever a WD subscription costs in your area, a fanatic mab subscription should cost the same. I don't think GW price everything exactly on the exchange rate amounts.
