a lonely titan? ???

You certainly don't want to make one of those angry. It's when they feel threatened that they lash out you know.

And then they slap you and accuse you of victimising them whilst there friends are getting a drink and they are vulnerable, when all you wanted to do was make sure they weren't lonely and possibly perform external maintainence on them.

Blimming titans....

First the moaning ex and then the external titan maintenance, and the drooling over Pi over at miniforums... everyone's beginning to sound like my high school buddies. ?}:)

I'd rather meet the lonely titan in need of some agression therapy than the 'moaning ex', any day!

5-6 on the undefeated champion 'moaning ex', 1-12 on the lucky outsider 'lonely titan'.

Place Your Bets!

ahh but you have to remember the titan is only immune topanic in its normal environment of a gaming table where it has a whole enemy army trying to kill it. Place it in unfamiliar conditions out of its depth and watch it run away with its turbo laser tucked between its legs.

Well, the only way he would get a draw (never mind a win), would be if he (the Titan) pulled out the Emperor's Golden Earplugs.  :D

ROTFL, sorry my train of thought wandered slightly, I did intend to discuss lonely titans.... :S

Besides... who said she was an ex? :p (MC if you read this, under the oath of... ummm big oaths you are not to reveal this thread in your cubicle chats, even under torture ok?).

To think, a few weeks ago - disclaimers like this would have been unheard of :'(

Jervis has just posted this in the E:A forum. Thought you may be interested, so:

-------------------

At present we're looking to get Chaos back into production in 2006 and the Tyranids back into production in 2007. I hope that the army lists for the two armies will be ready much earlier than that, but this will be the earliest we can make the two miniature ranges available again.

The armies will be based primarily on the model range from the last edition of Epic (Epic 40,000), rather than giving them a 'complete overhaul' as I'd originally planned, but we will probably be able to make a few new models to flesh out each range. For example, I pretty sure we'll be able to make the Defiler and Obliterators for the Chaos army, but the Deathwheel and Decimator are a lot less likely.

Please note that this doesn't preclude us from including the Deathwheel and Decimator in the Chaos army list. One of the benefits of of the new set-up for Fanatic is that the old rule that 'all units in the army lists needed to be supported by a Citadel Miniaature' has gone. This will allow me to _consider_ including Forge World models in tournament lists, and also allowing units you have to convert or scratch-built. However, if such units appear we'll need to be very careful to maake sure that they are not core units the army really needs to include, but are rather fun units to include if you want to but which are not vital or game-winning.

But I digress. Returning to the subject of when we'll release new armies for Epic, we're still working on how we'll deal with the Necron and Tau armies. There are a number of 'irons in the fire' with regard how to get them into production, and as soon as I know something for certain I'll let you guys know about it too. In any case, no matter what we decide, the earliest anything could happen is 2008.

Best regards,

Jervis Johnson
Head Fanatic

Well, that's something I suppose, and the usual long waiting list (plus extensions) I'm sure will apply, soldier on, and lets see what happens.
Thanks for the heads up

I am starting to get the same feeling that I had with the last edition, that any large developments wont happen. Even when we are told that Necrons and Tau are on the way, and Chaos and Tyranids have a date for completion, I wont 100% believe it until I see them.

Still, the good news is that the lists are becoming a lot more flexible now, and I like the idea of having units that people need to convert or build. If I only see the release of a few Tyranid infantry then I will be happy.

Quite an interesting post in my mind. I am less negative on it. First, it is more realistic in the time frame and budget way of thinking. Next, it addresses the "core" armies that have been hanging. Chaos and Bugs needed to be done.

The rest, I could live with lists and FW minis if need be.
