You are looking at Black Templars and a couple of the NetEA lists

All chapters use Thunderhawk Transporters and in friendly games, if your opponent is fine with it just go ahead and use some. I'd be completely fine with it.

They weren't in the core SM or White Scars list as they weren't invented at the time EpicA was written. If they had been they highly likely would have been. The way development has gone they've been added in later to some armies where they seem particularly fitting, but if they're balanced in some lists they should be balanced enough in other SM lists too really.

I can't complain too much, I do get Thunderhawks as normal detachments in White Scars :D Might pick some transporters up anyway as they're pretty

I'd just use them as a landing craft personally.....

If you saw them in half and extend they length they will (probably) look even better as a landing craft proxy :)

It's been done on the boards here. IIRC CaptainSenioris did that. Check out his hobby thread

thank you, great models and conversions on CaptainSenioris thread

The thread is called "Captain's Log" and the photos are on page 15 on this section

" Board index » Wargames Miniatures and Terrain » 6mm "

Easier to get there like that :)
