So as a counter point to my last battle report I have here a report using the EUK list facing a similar EUK Dark Eldar list to that which I played an AMTL (3.22+) list against last week.

The forces:

EUK Dark Eldar
1. Kabal Coterie – Archon + 6 Incubi & 3 Raiders – (Archon)
2. Kabal Syndicate – Dracon, 6 Warriors & 3 Raiders + Webway Portal – (Warriors 1)
3. Kabal Syndicate –6 Warriors & 3 Raiders – (Warriors 2)
4. Kabal Flotilla – 5 Ravagers – (Ravagers 1)

Objectives were set up with the DE Blitz on their right flank and TnH were deep in the AMTL half on the DE right. AMTL placed their Blitz in the centre of their deployment zone with the TnH obectives just over the mid-point to the AMTL left flank closer to the DE Blitz. The central most TnH objective was changed to the Webway portal.
Mandrakes garrisoned in the centre of the table. Archon & Dracon formations started in the webway. The Scourge started off the table ready to teleport in.
AMTL Robots garrisoned to the right objective in cover.

Turn 1 – SR to DE
DE – Razorwing (1) go on CAP
AMTL – Reaver (1) Sustains at Ravagers (1), 4 covered, 2 hits & saves – 1 BM

DE – Razorwing (2) ground attack the robots, 4 hits, 3 dead, 4 BM.

DE – Warrior (2) retain & double to fire on the Robots & break them – Fail the activation roll on a 1, take the BM and move forward.

AMTL – Robots regroup move back slightly and remove all the BM

DE – Ravagers (2) double forward and fire on the Robots – 15 shots & cause 1 BM

AMTL – Thunderbolts go onto CAP with the SC re-roll.

DE – Slavebringer ground attacks gets CAPped by the Thunderbolts loses it Shadowfield and places a BM on the Thunderbolts – the attack is on the Robots which suffer 2 hits, save them both and take 1 BM

AMTL – Warhound doubles to fire on Ravagers (2) – 2 MB hits, 1 saved & 3 PBG MW hits , 3 more dead & the remaining Ravager breaks and falls back

DE – Mandrakes attempt to stay on Overwatch & fail. BM is removed.

AMTL – Warlord with no close targets marches forward up the left flank

DE – Ravagers (1) advance, fail on a 1 (from Reaver 1 BM). They remove the BMs

AMTL – Reaver (2) marches into cover in the centre of the table – 1DC is lost due to first Difficult Terrain Test

DE – Vessel of Pain (1) double and shoot at Reaver (2) placing a BM

DE – Vessel of Pain (2) double and shoot at Reaver (2) placing a BM

DE – Warriors (1) advance out of the Webway and fire on the Warlord – 3 shots on 6s, 2 hits, 2 shields stripped, 1 BM – they then place the Portal Portal near the Warlord

DE – Archon engages the Warlord out of the Portable Portal – Warlord loses all its shields and takes two wounds. 3 Incubi & Archon’s stand plus a Raider are lost with the Warlord +2 at the roll off. Which it proceeds to lose. Both formations break and flee toward their opposition’s deployment zones.

AMTL – Warlord & Robots rally, Reaver (2) doesn’t
DE – Archon’s & Warrior 2 rally, Ravager (2) fail & remain broken.

Scourge teleport in on the AMTL right flank in the ruins between the two TnH Objectives - SR to the DE

DE – Ravagers (1) advance and fire on the Warlord only causing 2 hits stripping a shield and placing BM
DE – Retaining Vessel of Pain (1) advances onto the Warlord causes 2 hit one of which is a TK, the other is saved and 2 BM are placed.
AMTL – Warlord regroups and shoots at Ravagers (1) wiping them out. 3 shields are raised and 3 BM are removed.

AMTL – Retaining Reaver (2) attempts to engage Vessel of Pain (2), but fails to activate even with the SC re-roll. It removes all BM instead.

DE – Scourge advance and fire on the Warhound stripping its shields and placing a BM

DE – Vessel of Pain (2) retains and advances on the Warhound hitting it once with its TK shot taking a wound off the Warhound and breaking it with further 2 BM. The Warhound moves over to the right flank to a set of trees.


AMTL – Reaver (1) sustain fires at the Archon formation causing a hit and breaking them.


DE – Warriors (2) double forward and shoot at the Robots – Placing a BM
AMTL – Robots regroup and move further back into the woods whilst removing all their BM

DE – Slavebringer attempts to ground attack and fails.
AMTL – Thunderbolts ground attack the Archon formation get CAPped by the Razorwings suffer 3 hits, jink and lose one picking up 2BM. The Razorwings pick up a BM from flying over a Reaver

DE – Warriors (1) double back to the DE Blitz. Moving, shooting & moving at the Warlord and placing a BM
DE – Razorwing (2) Ground attack the Warlord stripping a shield & placing a BM

DE – Mandrakes double forward and surround Reaver (2)

DE – Archon & Ravager (1) rally, Scourge don’t
AMTL – Warlord, Reaver (1) & Warhound all rally

Turn 3 – SR to AMTL
AMTL – Warlord doubles forward towards the DE Blitz and fires on Warriors (1). 3 Warriors and 3 Raiders are destroyed breaking the formation.

AMTL – Warhound retains and advances out of cover to fire on the Scourge. 2 normal & 2 MW hits, no saves. Scourge break

DE – Warriors (2) engage the Warhound, they cause a wound and win the roll off breaking the Warhound which runs forward
DE – Ravager (2) doubles and shoots at the Warhounds causing no wounds.

AMTL – Reaver (1) has to advance to turn and see the Archon formation, fires and places 1 BM

DE – Slavebringer fails to activate and stand down
AMTL – Thunderbolts ground attack with the help of the SC re-roll. They attack the Archon’s formation and place a BM breaking them

DE – Razorwing (1) ground attack the Warlord, stripping a shield and placing a BM

AMTL – Reaver (2) engage the Mandrakes, moves and takes a point of damage from a difficult terrain test (2nd time in the game). The Mandrakes cause a further 2 wounds, but are wiped out by the Reaver.
DE – Razorwing (2) attempt to ground attack the Warlord, but fail to activate and stand down
AMTL – Robots go back onto Overwatch
DE – Vessel of Pain (1) advances towards the Warlord and take down the two remaining shields and place a BM

DE – Vessel of Pain (2) doubles over to the Warhound and hits once with its TK shots destroying the Warhound

All formations rally except the Scourge.
Neither side has any goals

Turn 4 – SR to DE

DE – Vessel of Pain (1) sustain fires on the Warlord taking down the freshly raised shield & 1 TK wound plus placing 3 BM (from disrupt hit)
DE – Warriors (1) advance back to the Blitz and place a BM on the Warlord

AMTL – Warlord regroups with the help of the SC re-roll. Fires on the Vessel of Pain (1) whilst clipping Warriors (1) with the Inferno Cannon. Shields are stripped and 1 wound caused to the war engine, but not breaking it. The Warriors lose a stand and break.

AMTL – Thunderbolts attempt to retain on a 4+ and fail so stand down
DE – Archon marches back towards the Blitz

AMTL – Reaver (1) advances towards Warriors (2) fire directly and destroy 1 Raider placing 2 BM

DE – Warriors (2) regroup, move and cover both Take and Hold and remove all their BMs

AMTL – Reaver (2) advances towards Warrior (1) wiping them out and claiming the DE Take and Hold Objectives.
DE – Ravager (1) marches the lone vehicle to contest an objective with Reaver (2)
AMTL – Robots remain on Overwatch
DE – Razorwing (1) ground attack the Robots killing 1 and placing 2 BM
DE – Vessel of Pain (2) doubles and fires on the Robots, 1 more dead and 3 BM (disrupt) breaks the robots
DE – Razorwing (2) fail to activate and stand down
DE – Slavebringer ground attacks and finishes off the Robots

End of Turn – 1-0 to DE (TnH)
On points count back DE are 50pts up (1400-1350) and the game is drawn.
