So has any one run a successful epicA campaign?
What system did you use?
What level of complexity?
Did you integrate any other games? BFG? 40k?
Any links?

I believe Onyx ran a fairly straight forward one last year using randomly drawn planetary empire tiles. I don't think it was massively complex but it added a bit of narrative to a short series of games between a few players.

At the other end of the scale MagnusIlluminus is currently running a more complex affair - pretty much civilisation by email - that I've been part of for the last year.

I have recently unearthed my "battle for Armageddon" wargame - and am hoping to to use it for an epic A campaign. I was planning on useing the scheme the suggest in the wargame box. - Is that what you did Rastamann? Have you any tips?

EpicUK ran a campaign weekend last year, it consisted of 12 players over 2 days playing a series of linked scenarios with a few random effects and objectives on one table affecting stuff on others

I believe Steve started with a simple narrative and that changed based on game results

the first round consisted of each side splitting into two teams of three, each team was given 12k to divide between them, they then played 1v1 games, those results were tallied up and in round 2 we played 3v3 games

on day 2, we played 3x 2v2 games with objectives based on previous results (Blood angels attempting to assassinate the chaos warlord, guard making a fighting retreat against expanding chaos forces etc

it was a load of fun, a bit like herding cats at times for poor Steve, but I would definitely do it again!

Have to say, battle for armageddon was a great game, and the chaos attack expansion. Horus Heresy however was not...

Liked them all (including Doom of the Eldar) but why no HH love? The attack the palace with the orbital bombardment issue aside (we long ago house ruled that as being "shielded" from attack), it's the same system. Or was it the scenario itself?

I can't quite remember to be honest. Armageddon always felt balanced and tactical - I remember HH having a couple of gw style random ways of winning or losing - I might be being unfair though....

OH man you're missing out. Great awesome fun.

Sometimes I think about putting together the files to do a print game on demand but then I realize I am lazy ;D
(likely more that I have all 4 games already and don't have any need to do that)
