I like the Litko ones as well, but if you prefer something more realistic, I was well satisfied with these;

Yah stu has some in Bristol. Good for flames of war but a bit too tall for a hmm. Maybe counts as five?

Sorry E:A friends, I wasn't thinking of the practicalities of what you use them for - I use 'em purely as a cosmetic aid in my battle reports where I place them for destroyed tanks.

Yes they are way on the large side for representing 1 marker apeice - but Maddoctor's idea for them representing 5 markers is a good one. I have a feeling that's what Caregadras does with these. You see these markers in his reports quite often.

Yeah, I really liked the fact that you could buy them painted. Time-saving and incredibly reasonable IMO.

In Tuesday's game against brokenbayonet's Feral Orks one of his formations had 16 or so of his 'proper' blast markers, four washers because he'd run out of proper markers and still wasn't broken.

Looks like a deathstrike bm. I think it would be cool to have terrain-changing effects from really big weapons. For example, a couple of small mushroom clouds on the turn you fired deathstrikes (even if you missed), with craters in subsequent turns. Craters for orbital bombardments (long trenches for lance strikes) would be another one. Taking it further, buildings turned to rubble by MW shots, and Titan wrecks.

I also like the idea of flaming wreckage for vehicles destroyed. That would up the cool factor for a game. Of course, with all this stuff there's an opportunity cost; it takes almost as much time modeling and painting effects as it does figures that have actual use in-game.

A quick snap of some I painted up last night.

PVA + tissue paper on pennies.

BMs in red, bust void shields in blue, bust DC in silver.

Since they're gaming tokens, I painted the rims too so they can be read easily from across the table.
