So I'm not super experienced with Marines, nor Chaos, but I have a couple friends who play vanilla marines and like to do the airborne assault that you tried Al, and I think that my advice may be relevant. As has been said, you really want your dudes to hit the board in one turn. In fact, if I were you I'd have kept the Thunderhawks in the Strike Cruiser until it made its attack run (potentially waiting until turn 3 to do so, to draw the enemy out because if they stay in their DZ they'll only control 1 objective) and then unleash your fury upon the enemy. Three Thunderhawks should be enough to claim objectives wherever you please, or concentrate your forces into one place to break the back of the enemy force. Harbinger might not need to hold back until the T-hawks arrive, as it'll get flak attacked anyway, but if your Thunderhawk+entourage manage to take out some AA then it'll have an easier time. On the other hand, it can work the other way around too, with the Harbinger making attack runs in the first two turns targeting enemy AA to allow your Thunderhawks to land and deposit their cargo unmolested. And of course termis should teleport in on that turn as well.

Long story short, you hold back, your aero forces making attack runs to thin out enemy AA, then when your opponent is spread out a bit you can land pretty much where you want and take objectives or go for just killing as much as you can. If the enemy chooses to stay close to their table edge, you can have your pick of objectives to land on and win by having all the proper objectives held for their win conditions.

Note that I myself have only played maybe 7-8 full games of Epic myself and haven't had this tactic used against me, but I've heard in detail about its use and it seems sound given my understanding of the rules. Good luck in your future battles, I hope you'll give this list another try before you dismiss Thunderhawk+khorne zerkers with marine support to be too expensive to work.

Complete Air Assault/Derop armies tend to be a hit or miss army. In my very first Turnesy i played a full Drop army. I won 2 games pretty big and lost 2 games pretty big :D

Berzerker-RetinueinThunderhwaks seem to bevery popular for Red Corsairs. Is this a good or bad sings? I don't want that everyone plays the same force composition.

If it were me I'd use a mix, I think it might be a theme thing for Al.

Nice report Glyn! I forgive you for not having painted the army yet; there must be plenty more going on in the sun right now!

I'll send you an email if I ever get round to it detailing my latest news :-)
Ciao!
