Guns heavy army - viable options??

Hi everyone!!

My favorite type of unit in Epic is Guns. Beyond the army they belong to, I love guns and cannons in any form: AA platforms, Field Guns, Big Gunz, Tarantulas, Quadlaunchers, mortars, field artillery...

So are there any viable armies mostly made up of guns??

I know it would be quite a slow army, but anyway it would not be 100% guns, there would be some infantry, vehicles and airforce for support, and guns can have transports after all!!

Krieg has quite a wide selection of guns to choose from. Here's a dug-in defensive list with no less than 26 artillery pieces, of 6 different kinds, plus heavy bombers for even more bombardment goodness.

Also includes a sizable amount of infantry, to keep the guns safe and to emerge from their trenches and cross no-mans land sometime during turn 3...

Yeah I was going to say DKoK but Speaker beat me to it.
Another dug-in heavy guns / armour list that might be to your liking, if you like Astartes that is, is the Imperial Fists Siege List.

DKoK was my first thought. But they require way too much infantry. In fact, it is a huge infantry army with lots of support.

Squats have lots of guns too, but I was thinking about smaller guns (infantry, light vehicle or even vehicle type, not WE).

I'll take a look at Barans and Ork (Blood Axe). Is there any guns heavy army out of IG and Orks???

Orks is hard becuase they don't sustain fire very well, but if you don't mind being at a disadvantage this might work for a grot rebellion list:

you could probably build a decent steel legion army with a couple of artillery companies.... you'd need lots of hydras and infantry to defend the artillery of course.....

if you're happy with tank cannons, I'll suggest Ulani or Minervans, both have lots and lots of guns, albeit mounted on tanks...

Check out the Mossinian (in Siege) and Barran lists. DKoK can have large amounts of guns, but lots of infantry and horses too.

In a sense a Titan Legion is a gun heavy army too. Very big guns.

Apparently I neglected to hit Submit on this one but:

you can make a relatively popcornish ork list with loads of big gunz (1 BTS of 25 guns, 3 oddboys and a warboss, 13 lots of 5 guns, a batch of 4 fighta bombas, and 3 lots of 3 fighta bombas)
18 activations, which is pretty solidly able to break a formation and then divebomb it to peices

but the fact is that big gunz are a pretty terrible choice. on a double, they're 5cm shorter effective range than boyz, and while they hit on a 6 rather than a 7, they've lost armour, a close combat score, and perhaps most importantly, a free grot. for the same cost, thats far from ideal.

I think Orks have pretty solid options. Not a 100% Big Gunz army, but around 50% with lots of infantry, vehicles and air support (around 50 Big gunz+other toys at 3000pts).

On the other hand, Barans and Squats seem good options too:

- Barans: core formations are 10 strong infantry formations, each giving two slots for guns as support formations (Artillery, AA...).

- Squats: core formations are only 8 strong infantry formations, each giving three slots for guns as support formations (batteries, heavy artillery...).

I think Barans are the way to go in my case, I already have loads of IG infantry.

Don't forget the Barans can also add Guns to the infantry (rapiers and thudd guns etc) to add to the 2 support slots.
