It looks mostly like an old Khorne Lord of Battle, with the other Khornate war engines mixed in for good effect. I've never actually seen those models except on eBay - I feel like they're from before my time. I don't even know what they did in Epic.

Other new big stuff:

Necron Tesseract

New terrain - I'll just link to the giant all-in-one set because it's crazy

Yeah, there was quite a lot of controversy when the new Khorne model came out over whether it was a Lord of Battles or a Deathdealer. Much nerd rage was expressed over the matter. I agree with you - it's a hybrid. Kind of a cross between a Lord of Battles and a Deathdealer.

The Tesseract - how on earth would you transport that thing?

Looks like a pretty straight-up copy of the Lord of Battles to me, with a slight redesign of the head.

But why change the name to Lord of Skulls? Are they.......... trying to strengthen their claim that they "own" skulls on minatures for an appeal with Chapterhouse? :o

Good Lord! $1,600 for a scenery kit??!! That's insanity."

It's not even some of the gorgeous cityscapes or Daemon worlds I've seen at Games Day; it's just a wall in the desert.

Kid, go buy yourself some Legos and a sandbox, and save dear-old day 1,500 dollars.

It's much too small to be a Lord of Battles.

There's an existing thread about the new models already.

There are a bunch of old Epic Chaos "Vehicles" like the one in Glyn's post ... Here's a pic of my "Horde" ... Image

That Khorne 'thing' isn't really anything like a Lord of Battles. It's basically a beefier looking Blood Slaughterer (an old Khorne 40K vehicle from years ago), but on tracks instead of wheels. It looks silly in my opinion.

The old Daemon Engines that were produced for Armourcast, and Epic, are far superior in terms of character in my view.

Would it not have made sense for the Necron Tesseract to be convertable to be either the Obelisk or open??

Also, whats the beef with 40K Armageddon stuff?? Are they trying to do epic but on a grander scale?

They're trying to solve the 'issue' of people having massive 28mm miniature collections that they want to use all at once, so they expand on the rules to include the big stuff & include lots of ways to remove tons of miniatures that wouldn't be possible to balance in a standard game of 40k. It also encourages people to build big mini collections so they can join in, making GW tons of money in sales.

It's not Epic, Epic has movement & strategy, Apocalypse is just meant to feel 'EPIC' in scale.

I actually like the new models, I just wish they could've brought the Obelisk to 40k without making it a WE.

I somehow feel the urge to name it Mister Cuddly. Too much doll scale with guns. No more GW-Barbies for me.

Hahahahahaha! PMSL. I think we should make rules for those or use them as proxies.
