I'm actually quite liking the plastic commisar at the moment. That's a lot of character in 6mm.

My shifting projects

If we are talking about only the coolest minis in the game, not rules, etc, my nominations are:

- Eldar Phantom. This was the oldest in production mini that GW had, and its a fantastic mini for putting across a sleek, deadly feel.

Also....

- FW Warhound
- the latest metal SM Land Raider (its the only version of the tank at any scale that has really got across the power of it to me)
- FW Tau.... pretty much anything, but I have a liking for the Orca as well as the Manta and RailHead.
- GW Reaver (another classic which always ranks highly for me)
- IG Thunderbolt

For infantry minis, I have always liked the Chaos Marines and IG Greatcoats. However, taking an entire sprue, the Squats have a great range of characterful minis and nostalgia packed on each sprue.

Ork speedstas all the way, the dragster in particular is cool; and of course the weird boy tower - very, very silly and sometimes very deadly...

The Marauder Destroyer. Runners up would be the Lucius Warlord and the Scorpion.

Now if they made a Storm Eagle for Epic, all bets would be off.

Squats 2019-10-17

Damn.. well I can't pick just one...

From my first foray into epic, it was the old Ork Mekboy Speedsta.. the one without the guns, I think it's 'thing' was that it had the force field. Then the original great gargant in a close second. I might be biased on my first choice because I'd done, what I felt at the time, a stonking paint job on it.

The old... er... brainbursta? The ork vehicle with the huge huge huge cannon sat through the middle of it

More recently, I'd say the FW warhound, just gutted that I don't have any

Eldar War Walkers. They never fail to serve me well and I love the ballsy attitude of strapping a pilot into the very front of the vehicle for everyone to shoot at (ahh, but he does have a shield to give you that all powerful 6+ REINFORCED armor save).

I keep reading this thread and almost every post makes me go 'oh yeah those are awesome too!'

I also love much of the infantry, the latest ork stormboyz are among my favourites, as well as the IG inf which are very well done also! the plaguebearers, sorcerers, and noise marines are standouts on an awesome chaos sprue, and the warp spiders, rangers and jetbikes are excellent for the eldar! not to mention the warp spider exarch from the COTYK set!

I'm sure someone else will remind me of yet more awesome models shortly!!

For me, it's always been the Reaver titan, Mk1. The Space Marine era titan.
It looked deadly, looked the part of a powerful war machine.
Also, in SM2 you could buy three of them for only 1000 points. Best value.
