Yeah, they could perhaps have been boosted, but theyd need to cost more, and don't want to make them fully overpowered either (12 missile shots instead of eight for four stands is really a lot). Please if you like, play test them with extra power, adding a bit more onto the points, and see how they go. I'll be doing a list review later next week, i have a few things to fix up, i will come up with my concept for an alternate proposal then.

A small non-update,

Some real life issues have prevented me from doing any epic development work in the last month and a bit while I look for some actual work, I hope this is resolved next week and I can get back to some regularly scheduled Epicing.

I'm not sold on the Primarch as a character upgrade actually.

ATM if you put the Primarch with anything other than something with RA it's just too weak. There's nothing worse than the focus of an army being mowed down by game mechanics (i.e. surrounded and engaged to death by assault marines)... I know Titans can be downed in much the same way but a Primarch should be bloody hard to kill.

Brainstorm: if you do manage to kill one, perhaps make it a game objective for capture; or all friendly formations gain a BM upon his death???

Given they are essentially "demi-gods" I think perhaps just make it a WE (like the Avatar with COTYK). In the end the troops around the Primarch become "superfluous" to the drama of a Primarch and abstraction means the loss of the troops around him has little overall effect on the unit.

If folks prefer to have a specific Primarch with a specific unit type a special rule to add the abilities of that unit to the WE might work. e.g Jahagatai Kahn could be given an Honour Guard of bikes which would in turn grant the WE mounted or Alpharius might get scout if attached to a Reconnaisance unit and so on....

Lastly, I think if you're going to include Primarchs they should really be fleshed out individually for abilities. Epic is usually abstract for character types but in this case I think they're a special case.

Anyway, just some ideas. :)

I'd basically concur with all that Dobbsy just said.

Good foof for thought cheers Dobbsy, the objective is a nice idea. Perhaps just in the event of taking a primarch, his unit becomes the BTS. Would certainly make it a more acheivable goal than taking out Dies Irae!

My own thoughts, just from looking at random stuff:

Rules
Augury Web: Personally, I just gave the thing Improved Comms (the "extend Supreme Commander" ability). The "screw over enemy teleporters" thing is neat, but I'm not sure it'd come up enough.

Formations
Terminator Detachments: why are these core units?

Artillery Squadron: the Rapier battery might fit well here. You could also ditch the Hyperios as an upgrade and have them be an option to take in here - a battery of three Hyperioses might be neat.

Contemptor Talon: I cut my Dreadnought formation because Betrayal mentions how the Dreads basically end up fighting independently - i.e. not as a formation.

Land Raider Battle Squadron: Nice, but Proteuses seem to be about as common as Phoboses in this era. The models certainly are common as dirt.

Land Speeder Squadron: These don't realy work well with the Chaplain or the Champion - I'd recommend their removal.

Malcador Squadron: I didn't see much need to include these, personally.

Predator Squadron: The Tank upgrade might go well here.

Rapier Weapons Battery: You left out the Heavy Bolter opton.

Recon Squad: Putting a Primarch or Praetor with these guys feels wrong.

Upgrades
Dreadnoughts: why no normal Dreads?

Drop Pods: Flat charges seem unwise - why not 5 per unit, like with Dreadclaws?

Proteus: This feels like it would make more sense more widely distributed, and with fewer Proteuses.

Teleport: Oh, just give them the ability. It's easier.

Allies
Surely you could just do "One to Three X" at "Y points each", rather than having double listings for so many things.

Stats
Legion Champion: I'd make it MW. MW + Sniper is powerful, but characters usually have two abilities - this guy doesn't even have Leader.

Lord Commanders should still have Commander and Leader, surely. Ditto Primarchs.

Heavy Support Squads seem very good in CC

Jetbikes would seem better at FF than CC. Not least, it meshes well with being Skimmers. I'd also give them Scout, personally. I gave them Volkite and a Heavy Bolter, since Plasma Cannons seemed a bit much.

I thought Fury of the Legion would work better as a 3+CC or 3+FF, personally. You could even merge the statlines, if you did it right.

I gave Tactical Support Squads Volkite, because it seemed easier than trying to represent so many flamers. I don't think flamers should really have a ranged attack.

I gave all the Support Weapons 4+ saves, since they have a Space Marine crew and are quite tough themselves.

Spacecraft: I gave them pinpoint attacks, since the Chaos list has pinpoint spaceships and pre-heresy Space Marines did a lot more ship-to-ship combat.

I think you may be overstatting the Fellblade Cannon.

What would be the best models to get to use as Fellblades?

Ive not made them yet. At the moment i am just using baneblades. I'm 75% done on a 3d model for a conversion kit i could put on printapart, i dont have the software to finish it for the last few months, though.

Any reason for no drop pods for tacticals? Going to do Raven Guard.

I thought it may have been an issue for rapiers/thudd guns, but getting the official guard ones, im sure they'd fit one per pod.

Under space marine transports 1.1, tacticals come with rhinos, so may trade rhinos for drop pods (no need to take an upgrade)

The whole formation must be able to drop pod though, so that means it must consist of power armour and dreadnoughts (I don't know where I have left my heresy book, but, pretty sure artillery may not pod)

I would think a formation of or with with thudd guns would be best on garrison, anyway.
