Hmm. I've never played E:A, only older versions of Epic. Would be willing to try it out if there was someone nearby willing to have a game. Does this count?

They're up on the GW website under specialist games, free to download :)

They're a little more abstracted than the SM/TL rules, but that's no bad thing IMO!

Cheers Kyussinchains, I'll have a look! I must admit that I'm firmly an old-school player so would be unlikely to play A:E as my first choice, particularly if (as I have heard) the new system means that a lot of the tactical nuances of the older system have been lost. On the other hand, I'd be happy to play if it meant I could meet new players in my area!

Personally, having read the rules for both, I think that some people have confused "finicky details" with tactical nuances. That's me, though. :P

Epic40k is a tactical game. E:A is a strategic game with tactical elements (especially related to movement).

Give her a whirl. Nothing says that you cannot play both with the same armies! :)
Both have pros and are fun. This is a case where your little plastic men can get twice the use!
