All those assault weapons are in the same boat as the scissor hands, they can be safely omitted.
The Warrior Splinter Rifles aren't needed as they have a Splinter Cannon.
Yes they could, but why? I thought the pdf wasn't finalised yet and you were waiting for neal to get back to you.
It's inconsistent. They have not been omitted in the army compendium so why do it here? Several units have kept one of their weapons (usually their "small arms") that's also "unnecessary".
I know they don't necessarily bring any new abilities to their units but they are still important. For fluff reasons and also because they explain why a unit has the abilities it has (for completeness sake if you will). For instance the reavers now have splinter rifles they can hardly explain why the unit should have a 4+ CC value, but mounted blades does. Deleting all unnecessary weapons makes for a poorer document IMHO.
EDIT: I saw now after a readthrough that it's been done for all armies in the tournament pack and I realize you probably wanted to save space. I also realize you guys probably wont have the time or will to go back and redo all these list (and neither do I). But for next years version perhaps.
I probably sound rather negative so I'd like to say that this pdf is great. It's very nice to have rules and FAQ together and I thank you that you've put it together. Skipping "unnecessary" weapons is just something that I found annoying, it's of course your decision and we can always print the army compendium instead (I just like this layout a lot more so would rather print it).
