Hello All
I have been talked into getting back into Epic for a tournament at the end of the year/beginning of next year, but I have no clue about what makes a good list! So all and any help would be great! I have picked Titan Legions as when I played EA before they weren't a list and I love Titans!
I have come up with 3 lists so far let me know what I need to change/which one is best. Please be critical, but bare in mind I want to do a titan list so if anyone says take list one or two titans and lots of infantry I won't be using that changed list.
List 1
Warlord + Legato - 900pts Warlord + Veteran Princeps - 875pts 2 Warhounds + Veteran Princeps - 525pts 2 Warhounds + Veteran Princeps - 525pt 2x Thunder Bolts - 150pts
2975pts
List 2
Warlord + Legato - 900pts Reaver - 725pts 2 Warhounds - 500pts 2 Warhounds - 500pts 6 Forge Knights - 375pts
3000pts
List 3
Warlord + Legato 900pts 2 Warhounds 500pts 2 Warhounds 500pts 6 Forge Knights 375pts 6 Forge Knights 375pts
2650pts - This leaves me 350pts to spend, now I see a few options. One take 6 more Forge Knights (would need to drop the Legato to a Veteran Princep). Two take a Thunder bolt or Marauder Flight and then add in some upgrades. Option 3 Turn the Warlord into an Imperiator Titan. Or option 4 add in a single Warhound.
Weapon Layouts
Warlord 2x Turbolaser Destructors Gatling Blaster Volcano Cannon
Reaver Support Missile Gatling Blaster Volcano Cannon
Warhound Vulcan Megabolter Plasma Blastgun
Any and all advice is welcome!
Thanks for any advice Ben

I can't help you too much on list creation (I too am recently returning to epic from a 15 year hiatus) but I'd love to see some pics on your stuff. Looks like you've got some oldies in there!

Welcome back!
You're very low on activations; I'd take the Warhounds as singles and add a couple of Sentinel formations too. Aim for at least 8 or 9 activations at the 3K level.
If you can swap the weapons, I'd recommend replacing the Reaver support missile with a Titan CCW.
Marauders work well for a Titan Legion, especially if you don't bring an artillery titan (the very common 2x QC + CLP configuration).
Carapace multi-lasers are always nice, too, especially if you're otherwise light on AA.

I'd take list 3 and bulk up on activations with some Thunderbolts.

Thanks for the advice so far guys.
The problems I have had is the very limited selection options I can have. For one you are only allowed 2 scout titan formations for very battle titan formation. So the idea of 3 or 4 single Warhounds didn't work. So I have come up with this list
WARLORD TITAN [950] 2 Turbolaser Destructor, Volcano Cannon, Gatling Blaster, Legate, Sacred Icon
FORGE KNIGHTS [375] 6 Forge Knights
FORGE KNIGHTS [375] 6 Forge Knights
WARHOUND TITAN PACK [525] 2 Vulcan Megabolter, 2 Plasma Blastgun, Veteran Princeps
WARHOUND TITAN PACK [525] 2 Plasma Blastgun, 2 Vulcan Megabolter, Veteran Princeps
MARAUDER BOMBERS [250] 2 Mauraders
it's 6 activations, which from what I remember when I did play beofre with my friends was average (I used to have 8 with my marines and I would always have the last two activitions), but in all fairness I can't see who I can get more without dropping the Warlord for a or 2 Reaver.
Thanks Ben

Well, I'd go with a Warlord and a Reaver to fit in the Warhound singles.
I'd drop the Sacred Icon (the Warlord is not expected to do engagements, after all) and get Carapace Multi-lasers instead. In general, you're very short on AA, and CMLs and Thunderbolts are really your only choices there.

Something like this STM?
WARLORD TITAN [900] 2 Turbolaser Destructor, Volcano Cannon, Gatling Blaster, Legate
REAVER TITAN [650] Apocalypse Rocket Launcher, Gatling Blaster, Turbolaser Destructor
WARHOUND TITAN [275] Vulcan Megabolter, Plasma Blastgun
WARHOUND TITAN [275] Vulcan Megabolter, Plasma Blastgun
FORGE KNIGHTS [375] 6 Forge Knights
FORGE KNIGHTS [375] 6 Forge Knights
THUNDERBOLT FIGHTERS [150] 2 Thunderbolts

Still low on activations and AA; Depending on your local metagame, this may not be a problem.
I can see you are fond of Forge Knights, and if you like them, by all means use them. Personally, I'm not so keen; I'd swap them for an extra Warhound, a couple of formations of Sentinels, another Thunderbolt segment and Carapace multi-lasers for the Battle Titans. This certainly gives the list a different playstyle - the Forge Knights are assault oriented, my suggestions are more standoff shooting oriented. Go with the style that fits your temperament.
I'd put TLDs on the Warhounds if at all possible, instead of the Vulcans; they're really very good.
Looking forward to hearing how they fare in the field!

Thanks for the Advice SpeakerToMachines, I like the look of the Forge Knights (I also own 12 which helps). I like the look of them as a good assault unit as I don't want to be getting the Titans into Combat they can do the dirt work. But I also thought their stats and special rules made them worth a look.

for me, you'd use the forge knights to initiate the combat, pulling the titans in after them as support. much heftier, you can activate normally with the titan before it AND you get to move the titan a little further around the table.
