Epic is a two player game, making intermingling with other players inappropriate during play.

Intermingling post-game is best agreed on beforehand. Excitement can be added through the addition of victory conditions which impose intermingling on the losing player.

Just make sure no one's playing Dark Eldar.

I found The Tool useful as can only play Epic once or twice a month and keep forgetting stats.
I cut it out both and used transparent adhesive tape to wrap it up and secure from spillages and sweat. Done.
Ad idea: 'One for me and one for anyone who dares to face my army' 8)

Hmmm packing tape is slightly wider than 5cm. Might have to try that with the next batch so Matt doesn't ruin his again with "water"...
