It says in the rulebook that WE's (baneblades) 3 shots/attacks can be allocated between FF and CC attacks. If each unit in a formation of 3 baneblades is engaged in CC by attackers (say 8 terminators) which are also entirely engaged in CC, can the 3 baneblades opt to forgo their poor CC attacks against the terminator units in base contact with themselves in favor of using its FF value against other enemy units in base-to-base with other baneblades in the formation?

This was discussed elsewhere in the past, and I believe the answer was "yes" in principle. However, don't forget that FF must be in LoS of the target, which can be blocked by intervening WE.

Also, you need to be carefull of the wording in the WE section of the rules which can be a bit ambiguous under these circumstances.

It's also incredibly inelegant for formations of WE. Having played KnightWorld for a while, it can be a real pain in the bum to get allocation of hits correctly, and it feels more than a little gamey.

I can't readily see an alternate option that doesn't make WE formations more powerful, but it is something I see regularly as problematic.
