we had a play with this last week, didn't seem like it was going to be that useful, but the 5cm width is perfect for slotting between formations to check whether they're intermingled or not

we have a similar thing in Bristol: we call them " 'minglesticks"! It's literally a 15x5cm plasticard T shape that can be used to check mingling, coherency, FF, 30cm weapon ranges etc...what's best is the T shape allows it to be held lenghtwise over the heads of models and twiddled around :-)

Useful as it may be, part of me can't help but chuckle at the name of this device. Need to print the revised version off soon. I wish there were a reasonable way to laminate it and have it still useful.

Trust me, this was intentional. Once you start using it in a sentence during a game, hilarity ensues... "hand me your epic tool," "keep your hands off my epic tool," "That picture had your epic tool in it, should we re-take it?" etc. etc.

If you can print 2 sided they line up perfectly for 4 tools per sheet, cut laminate and bingo :)

I recommend shellacing your EpicTool™ to keep it as stiff and well maintained as possible.

@MoK - do you guys enforce a 5cm mingling buffer on all players?

It's not uncommon for a player to state that formations that are close that they aren't intermingled, as tables get nudged sometimes and modwls move a bit.

But if poeple do it a setup time you don't get warned twice :)

I meant players Dave. No mingling with other players within 5cm or less.
