Dave- Thanks for the link to Army Forge- I had been working out armies in excel so that will be very useful.

SK- I had forgotten that Thunderhawks are both WE and aircraft- Although I love them maybe it would be best to save them for non-intro games

If I take Glyn's advice and drop one of the Hunters and one of the Commanders, drop one of the scouts and the Thunderhawk, I can add Land Raiders.

So I think I am going to go for the following to start:
Tactical with Supreme Commander, Hunter and Rhinos
Tactical with Hunter and Rhinos
Devastator with Librarian, Hunter and Rhinos
Assault with Chaplain
Scout with Sniper
Terminator with Chaplain
Predator Annhiliators
Land Raiders
Whirlwinds

Not a tournament winning army. But no WEs or aircarft to complicate things. 9 activations which is the same as my IG and Ork starting armies. Most of the iconic SM units. And minimises my intial apinting task.

Then afterwards I can add the fun stuff (gazes longingly at Thunderhawk)

And even better I have realised that Thunderhawk and SM Strike Cruiser at 400 points are the same price as the rulebook Land Raiders. So I will have a simple swap out to add some more mobility. Beyond that I will need to look at the latest Net EA Blood Angels list.

I'd cut the Hunters until aircraft are introduced. It's just more practical, IMO.

Hi- what would you replace with?

I already have them painted so that will just lengthen the time until I can get fully painted 3k army on the table.

For 225 points...Land Speeders? Razorbacks? Upgrades? Some combination of the above?

You don't have to cut them. They just seem kinda weird without aircraft to face.
