Then those people will still be able to judge from the miniatures. Or Google it.

And, of course, 330 million+ people will already know it.

and the australian penny hasnt been made since 1964, so that still does a total of diddly squat for those of us down under.

You're all too busy fending off koalas and sheep to buy terrain.

Or you could just, y'know. Use the miniatures that would also be in the photo, as I've suggested twice now.

Hey guys I have a dumb question.

Where is the best place online to get epic scale miniatures (ie: vehicles and ships)?

Some of you may know that I manufacture scenery items (buildings, landing pads, fortress walls, etc.) and I really want to photograph my products with some ground vehicles and ships. I think it would be a lot easier for customers to get a good idea of the size of my products if they were shot with pieces they recognize.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Games Workshop or Ebay are the best places to get real Epic miniatures. The expense is a relative thing. You can find some nice deals on Ebay. No third party supplier provides Epic bases with their infantry miniatures. Some of the armor and aircraft from third party suppliers varies a bit outside of Epic scale norm also.

Since you are making buildings an important measurement you should keep in mind is the base size the infantry is generally placed on. There are two base sizes in general use: 40mm x 20mm and 20mm x 20mm. It would be nice, in your future projects, if the surface area on a 'roof' or top of 'fortification' kept the base sizes in mind. Alot of players like to place the infantry on the roofs and other ledges.

When based on a Games Workshop base the distance from the bottom to eye level on an infantry figure as about 8mm.

Just to give you a rough idea of sizes: a Games workshop 'flyer' base is 32mm in diameter. A 'new style' Space Marine Landraider tank is 35.5 mm l 21.5mm w 15mm h. A main battle tank of the Imperial Guard (Leman Russ) is 26mm x 22mm x 15mm.

^ I think you'll find it's 40x12, but who's counting? Might be 38mm without the bevels though.

Yes, sorry about the incorrect measurment of 40 x 20, it is more like 40mm x 12mm.

Keep in mind it can be confusing if you use Epic aircraft, because FW's are to scale but GW's are quite a bit smaller. Someone who's only seen the GW minis would get the wrong idea.
