Hiya.

I am playing 6mm sci-fi (not GW Epic) but am struggling to find some BIG tanks.
Then I recalled my old IG army from the ninties, Baneblades and Shadowswords and the Stormhammer were quite chunky.

Does anyone have exact sizes for these models please?

I am looking at non-GW tanks and they seem quite small...

Michael

You are talking about 'Super-Heavy' Tanks, which are basically 10mm-scale tanks rescaled for 6mm people.

Within the context of 6mm main battle tanks, GW's Lemans, run fairly big, DRM's Chasseurs and Mammoths run bigger. Exodus Wars is also worth mentioning -- a nice line of MBTs, as well as some very well-thought-out Super-Heavies.

Baneblades, shadowswords please.
L Russ, predator, land raider etc all too small.

Am just browsing some Steel Crown ones, any idea how big the ones like the Guild Enforcer Urban Pacification Squadron MKII are at all?

A resin Forge World Shadowsword is 4.5cm long (5.3 long including the main gun) by 3.5cm wide. The older metal Shadowswords were smaller, but I got rid of mine years ago and replaced them with the nicer resin models, so I can't tell you the sizes of them.

They're not cheap, but they could be worse - main Games Workshop now sells a single metal superheavy for £12.30 each ::)

I'm sure others will suggest other big tanks too, but I've mostly stuck to GW style models, so haven't explored other companies much.

Sizes of primary hull (no sponsons or turrets, but Shadowswords include superstructure). I dont have any FW hulls to measure.

Baneblade MKI: 42mm x 29mm x 19mm
Shadowsword MKI: 42mm x 30mm x 20mm
Baneblade MKII: 45mm x 30mm x 18mm
Shadowsword MKII: 47.5mm x 30mm x 20.5mm
Enforcer UPC MKII: 45mm x 28mm x 15mm

Fixed as the Shadowswords are not quite the same.

the Exodus Wars UPVs are all sufficiently beefy tanks. they're about the same size as the GW super heavies

Exodus Wars and DRM were designed to be compatible with Epic ... Which is more than I can say for G/W & F/W ... :-\ Image
