The unlucky shmuck will get a load of shit for trying to help the community thrive.
Your cynicism is likely prophetic, elsmore.
But it's incomplete! Let's look at
all the options for your participation in the NetEA community!
You can:
Be a NetERC member: Damn you! There's three of you and the books are still late, the site's borderline incomprehensible, and the community's fragmented! You suck!
Be an Army Champion: Damn you! The army doesn't represent 40k well enough/represents 40K too well/doesn't have enough special units/has too many special units! You're making too many changes/not making enough changes/being too proactive/not being proactive enough! You suck!
Be a list developer: Damn you! Your list includes a unit I don't like/doesn't include a unit I like/represents a philosophy I disagree with/duplicates an existing list too much/is another Space Marine list when other armies are neglected/isn't another Space Marine list when they're the most popular/distracts from working on the main list for this army/doesn't represent 40k well enough/represents 40k too well! You suck!
Make models for the player base: Damn you! You charge too much/you work too slow/you don't make what I like/you make what I don't like/your models are the wrong scale/your models don't mesh with GW's/your models are too cartoony, like GW's/your models are made from metal/your models are made from resin! You suck!
Be a participant on the forums: Damn you! There's so much responsibility in all this, and you aren't doing enough! You suck!
Lurk silently: Damn you! The community needs more voices to make progress! You suck!
Not do anything involving Epic whatsoever: Damn you! You're the reason we can't have nice things because you support GW's kiddy games! You suck!
I hope I've clarified things for everyone.
