Eldar Titan Clan Vs Space Wolves 3000pts
Dobbsy and myself had this game over two nights (spread by abour 3 weeks gap i believe) and i've finally got around to writing up a (fairly dodgy) report for it.
unfortunately this battle report is gonna be a bit hazy in parts, having not got any log-data saved somehow. it also took place over a month ago (or atleast, teh first half did) so i am only partially able to recall the specifics. it's possible things happened in a slightly different order than this, but i'm pretty sure i've got it right. pictures are kinda hard to decipher, but are included for what they're worth. forgot to take one after turn1, but as basically nothing had happened at that stage, i'm sure we can live with that.
Eldar Titan Clan List
Weight of Aeons: Warlock Titan - Power Fist, Psy-Lance, wraithsinger, spirit stones
Symphony Of Regret: Phantom Titan - Tremor Cannon, Power Fist
Requiem: Revenant Titan - Sonic Lance x2
Divine Purpose & Overwhelming Sorrow: Revenant Titans - Pulse Laser x2 each
6 Rangers
6 Rangers
I'm afraid i cant tell you the Space Wolves List, due to logfile emptiness, but it went a little something like this:
big formation of dudes in a lander, supreme commander formation on foot, wolf scouts, a squad of attack bikes, a squad of blood claws in rhinos with a vindicator, squad of puppies, whirlwinds with hunter, and two squads of thunderbolts.

deployment: rangers deploy at the blitz and in the west flank ruins near the objective cluster. titans deploy to support this push, so centrally and on the west flank.
marines deploy with with their fast assault elements (bikes and bloodclaws) on the east flank, with the rest of their force either airborne, or on the east flank
turn 1: maneuvering happened, eldar titans advance taking position in the central forest or up towards the western ruins, with Requiem causing significant casualties to the advancing fenris wolves, causing them to break. whirlwind fire causes no damage on rangers in ruins. marine strikeforce advances up eastern industrial complex, thunderbolts cause 1 point of damage to Requiem, eldar AA proves totally ineffective.
Turn 2: Wolf Scouts arrive, are beaten up by Requiem, who sustains from within the ruins. Weight of Aeons doubles into the forests near marine blitz. marines continue to work their way through the eastern flank, Divine Purpose and Overwhelming Sorrow go into overwatch to protect rangers air assault out of lander into Weight Of Aeons, with supporting fire from SupComm formation, who countercharges, kills a couple of dudes, but massively fails holofield saves and loses 2DC, loses the assault, but stays put. lander disengages safely, again eldar AA again do nothing to thunderbolts, although the thunderbolts also fail to cause any trouble. Aeons rallies.

Turn 3: Requiem advances through ruins, taking a point of DC in the process, shoots at the milling marines alongside Aeons, who proceeds to assault the group. again causes insignificant casualties and loses 3 more DC in the process. again broken, and on 1DC she flees back past the central forest to cry in shame. Symphony of Regret advances through the ruins to secure both marineside objectives, and unload firepower onto the marines that attempted to follow Aeons doing nothing of note in the process. Rangers on the western flank assault the wolf scouts, and cut them down in the process. being tricksy eldar, they then regroup further than their initial assault move had taken them, back into a position to claim both objectives on the eldar half of the table.
tot he eastern flank, the bloodclaws rush out of the factory to position themselves along the blitz-rangers flank. the rangers, who had patiently sat re-overwatching for 3 turns, proceeded to shoot the wolf priest as soon as he climbed out of the rhino. the empty lander then assaulted the rangers, who due to being incomparable badasses, beat it down, causing it to crash into the ground. (the landers position, in an effort to avoid the ineffectual AA of the eldar titans, landed in front of the supporting bloodclaws, rendering them ineffective in providing assistance. Devoid of cover, the bloodclaws proved too tempting a target for the twin revenants to pass up, who swept upwards and unloaded a mass of macroweapon shots into the units transports, killing several. thunderbolts finally suffer from the wrath of supposed eldar air-firepower, and one from each formation crashes. the marine bikes moved into position to menace Aeons should she rally once more. She does, as do the fenrisian wolves. blastmarkers are relatively dislodged across the board. Neither side has gained significant foothold on objectives (the eldar-side objectives are thoroughly held by the rangers, although the blitz is contested by the not quite broken bloodclaws. however weight of aeons push towards the marine blitz has well and truly been defeated, and the marine counterpush has brought them into contesting range of their forward objectives.

turn 4: Symphony of regret and requiem unload further largely ineffective firepower into the advancing marine picket. further retaining, the revanant twins again unload into the bloodclaws causing significant damage. the bikers then capitalise upon my targetting priorities, and zip around the forest to finish off weight of aeons. i believe the rangers at the blitz assaulted the remaining bloodclaws, killing them all, although i may be mistaken here. either way, the remaining marines all died. thunderbolts kill a ranger on the eastern flank, and the wolves make a massive rush up to contest an eldar objective.
Game ends. again, Neither side able to claim sufficient victory conditions for an outright win, so victory points are tallied. Eldar manage to scrape a victory by about 170vps.

thoughts on the game: Powerfists are amazingly versatile choices for the Eldar Titans (as we well know)
the ETC put forwards a terrible showing (my luck was utterly atrocious in almost all instances. with the exception of the blitz-rangers, who made a good showing, and the initial firepower unloaded by the sonic titans, i kept not being able to kill or weather nearly as much as my stats should have allowed me. by all rights, Aeons should have crushed the marines over the two assaults, allowing me to control their blitz from a secure forested position.)
the revenant pulseweapons really did encourage me to sustain whereever possible. especially when protected by a ruin or forest.
all titan lists are going to force their opponents into a fight that we as a community are largely un-used to. Dobbsy commented that over the first two turns he'd managed not to kill a single thing, and it certainly seemed like i was in a solid position at that point even after the first assault-debacle. given better rolling, we both agree i would have won the game quite handily (dobbsy had some bad luck too, but for the most part, nothing like the strings of it that i did)
where the eldar titans seem to shine past the AMTL ones (and one assumes the OGBM, though i gather its a large concern for the bio-titans aswell) is that their speed allows them to threaten things faster. (albiet at a loss of firepower. even with powerfists, a warlock titan is not as durable or able to lay down as much damage as a warlord of similar points)
as to the wolves. they seemed largely fine (although i still cringe at their improved assault stats. the loss of ranged shooting is there, yes, but for an army that is always strongest when assaulting, i dont think thats a huge disadvantage)
