I thought it might be a nice idea to keep a thread of what Forgeworld say they have versus what they actually have....

I ordered 2 packs of warhounds last wednesday and they arrived yesterday, the guy on the phone said 'oh yeah we usually have some of those lying around' despite my being told otherwise in an email from the customer service manager.

I've also noticed that they have Chimeras marked as in stock (if you search for SG-EPC) and they list Basilisks (although it says out of stock) and most interestingly the fire warriors cadre (although the price is £0.00 and they also say out of stock)

can anyone with more experience shed any light on this? are the basilisks/fire warriors likely to come back in stock any time soon/at all?

I'm curious as I'm about to do a deal involving some forge world basilisks, but they're slightly damaged and I'm not sure whether to hedge my bets on FW producing more.....

I experimented a bit with the 'SG-EPC search only' items on the FW website just after easter.

SG_EPC items with a price:
You can successfully order Chimeras via the website under SG_EPC and they are cast in the newer, grey, resin. If you phone up they will deny all knowledge of their existence unless they are already in your order. Leman Russ Conqs were also available via SG_EPC until just after Easter, when i ordered the last packs, and now seem to have been removed from the site rather than going to 'out of stock'.

SG_EPC items at £0.00:
Ordering any £0.00 items (assuming they are not already marked as out of stock) WILL BREAK YOUR ORDER. The website will accept the order but their system cannot process anything with a £0.00 item present – it just gets stuck and ignored. I tried this, nothing arrived, phoned up and the order was deleted, re-submitted manually and any £0.00 items in it purged from their system. It appears to be a left-over from their old site and these £0.00 items are not listed on their stock sheets any more.

Hope that helps, but bear in mind FW seem to say slighlty different things depending on who you get on the phone :D

After seeing how much Glyn's second lot of 7 Chimeras went for (over £30) not a bad wee earner there if that's your thing.

What are FW's Chimeras like? are they prone to breakages? Trying to decide between getting them or some AOTs.

I have both. The side lasguns on the FW Chimeras can snap off, but easy to replace with drilled in plastic/metal rod. AOTs have more and nicer turret options.

I'd definitely go with the AOTs, they're top work.

Hi guys,

I need to get hold of some Chimeras, or suitable proxies. Does anyone have a link to these AOTS?

Cheers
Reedar

You know, I have no idea. On an unrelated note, you have a PM, Reedar.

Hi all, probably an odd page to introduce myself but never mind! I registered on the site a long while back but it got messed up somehow and, since I've recently returned to Epic after a long hiatus, CyberShadow has kindly got it fixed for me.

Anyway I just wanted to mention that I was on the phone to Forge World yesterday and I asked them if they had anything Epic not listed on the site. They said the only extra IG stuff in were Conquerors, and some Tau stuff (but not infantry). He explained that the molds need reworking rather a lot, including re-making the master molds which is basically equivalent to launching an entirely new model. He said they plan to bring back the Epic range, but there is no timescale for it so no promises can be made. They are evidently still re-making molds for some items on a continual basis, so that is positive at least.

If they are aware just how much their stuff sells for on eBay (congrats GlynG for the buildings by the way!), they will make good on their plans to bring it back I should imagine. It "feels" like a simple resourcing issue, not a strategic one.

There were no chimeras yesterday, only conquerors, but worth a try.

yeah the difference being that they normally have Warhounds in stock although they don't advertise it on the site..... I think you might not have been direct enough with the guy... he also may have told you what he thought they had and not what they actually had.... I think it's worth asking for specific items so they can check the computer (like he did when I ordered my warhounds a couple of weeks ago).... All will be revealed tomorrow anyway!
