Sat looking at my box of unopened Epic minis the other day and spotted a FW Orkeosaurus, and a few Squiggoths. I'm tempted to put together a Feral list, but when putting together a couple of army lists, it became apparant I'd need a lot of Junkatrukks. Given that the offical GW models require a remortgage for each pack that you buy, does anyone know of any suitable alternatives out there which I could use?

I know I could just proxy my existing wagonz, but somehow that doesn't quite feel the same.

Besides, I know the wife will be thrilled when a load more toys turn up on the door mat..... ;D

what I did is I used mostly these

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Epic-40000/ ... WAGON.html

and cut off the front part - only the part with the tracks remained.

then I took 2 plastic boars and cut the riders off, and put them in front of the tracked part. added some wire and voilá I had a chariot/trukk kind of thing.

sadly I can't post pictures because I have them at home. If i don't forget about it I will put up some pictures end of April (going home for Easter...).

cheers,

Use normal trukks that you already have! Or convert old plastic ork battlewagons ala my LatD ones

I don't say this very often, but $25 for 6 junkatrukks isn't terrible, relatively speaking...

Maybe... But I need over 30 over them, which comes to around £90 - which I can't justify!

I've got some FW wagonz and GW flakwagonz, I guess if I take the guns out of them they should suffice.

Cheers for the other suggestions guys - I'll keep an eye out on Ebay for the old style wagonz.

The background for Junkatrukks talks about them being made from heavily damaged wrecked vehicles - both ork vehicles and those of their enemies. They can be lots of fun to convert/kit-bash - be creative! I've got ones made from Chimeras, Rhinos, a Falcon on wheels, ect.

For my army I'm having 1-2 formations of feral orks, but the rest will be counts as from my normal orks. I'm going to use a mix of battlewagonz and warbuggies their guns left off (I'll probably magenise mine) to counts as Junkas.

They're a bit chunkier scaled but I'm using the 6mm fantasy Orcs, Goblins and Boar Riders 6mm from this site for my Ferals. There's more variety and they're cheaper than GW.

I'll be sticking up a long list of models to sell on here properly in the coming few days but I have rather a lot of excess ork vehicles if there's any amongst there you're interested in.

That's the coolest unorthodox falcon conversion I've seen since the cheese falcon. :D

They don’t look like they have any transport capacity (I’m not even sure there’s room for a driver) but they’re cheap and plentiful!

Cheers for that Glynn - let me know when you put that lot up, there's quite a few in there which I would be interested in...
