Warp Spiders are generally reckoned as the best because of their First Strike, infiltrator and FF capabilities.

Get them to cover in the centre of the tableand they can control / influence an area 100cm in diameter, or the entire space between the two deployment areas. As a consequence, they do not need WS transport (banned anyway), which with their ability to use cover in turn makes them slightly harder to target (AT weapons cannot hit them)

Because of these considerations, mixing them with any other aspects tends to dilute their capabilities.

Does it make sense to mix in Swooping Hawks when using Vampires? (for the 'jump pack deployment out of flying war engines' rule)

I am not sure that the 15cm disembarkation gives that much of an advantage, other than to allow you to spread the formation a bit further. Notionally you could leave the Vampire more than 15cm from the target, but I cannot think of any benefit in doing so, an a nymber of reasons why thiis is a bad idea.

My favorite way currently of fielding them is 4 Scorpions + 4 Reapers (2 of these being Exarchs), all in Wave Serpents. But then, part of that is because I only have 5 stands of each aspect that comes in the warhost boxes.

I also field a separate one for my SC in a 4 Spider (Exarch & Autarch) + 4 Hawk formation. While it's not the way I would prefer to field them, I'm a bit limited in my options, atm.

What aspects do you still need, sphendule? I've got spares of everything except Avengers at this point. Only a stand or two in most cases, but better than nothing. I'll bring them with tonight.

As for what I don't have, technically I'd like a total of 8 of each aspect just so I can have the possibility of running a full single-aspect formation, and I only have 5 each of Scorpions, Banshees, Spiders, Hawks, and Reapers (I "cheated" and only put 4 on each 20mm x 20mm base, since I had 4 of those sprues). But, the ones I'd like more of most would probably be Spiders, Hawks, Dragons, and Avengers. Not that I'd run them all in the same list, mind.
