Has anyone heard or know of a chaos proxy list anywhere? I am trying to put together a chaos army, and would like to assemble it under epicA, but have pieces from the old chaos forces, epic40k, and other odds and ends. Any help would be appreciated.
my questionalbe 2cents,

There were a couple of versions of Chaos on the E:A downloads, on how to organize your Chaos forces.

Yes, but they omit the critical section on substitutions for the old OOP chaos pieces, of which I have a lot. Namely, what do you do with the Juggernauts, Discs, and Trolls, et all? I was working out how to convert them to Epic40k stats, but don't want to go to the trouble of organizing them for epic40k when epicA is right around the corner. See my delimma?

This is just AFAIK... I could be wrong. Juggers/ Steeds - Bikes Discs - Screamers of Tzeentch Trolls, Minotaurs - Big Mutants Beastmen - Small mutants. Slaanesh Knights -Defilers (though I really think these deserves their own stats!) Various Daemon Engines count as War Altars
Uhm... there's more but thesewere the ones I could just think of the top of my head.
Cheers!

There's no official "counts as" list for chaos yet, but that list is pretty much what people have been doing.
People have also been using Brass Scorpions as Defilers.

Hi!
Are trolls and minotaurs being reintroduced into epic A?
Anyone know?

The closest thing to Minotaurs and Trolls are Big Mutants in the LatD list.

Hi
I managed to pick up the new SM Battle Company box set at the weekend and started assembling them yesterday. It struck me that the sprue was suspicously like half of the old SM Infantry sprue.
You got the marines with bolters, missile launchers and jump packs but that was it. You did n't get the sergeants, scouts, termies, bikes or command figures.
Does anyone know if something happened to the old SM Infantry sprue mould? Or was this just an excuse to overcharge us and force us to buy the new metal bikes/scouts/termies etc....

Cheers
James

Trashed, to be replaced by metal stands.

GW have changed the way they cast their plastics & are using machines upgraded since the 1997 moulds for E40K were designed.
In order to cast the older moulds would have meant considerable adjustment of the casting machine every time any of the epic sprues were needed. This wasnt possible under current production cycles so new moulds had to be made which do fit the current machines & also the production process in the plastics department.
New moulds were too expensive to make from scratch so they re-tooled the components of the old moulds to fit new Boss'. In the case of the SMs (and possibly others, I'm going on a conversation between myself & jervis here, I havent seenthe new inf castings yet), this did indeed result in something which was basically one half of the original.

This is GW's version of a "bakers dozen", except that they keep the "extras".....

Thanks- it is disappointing- I did n't even have any sergeants to use in tactical squads...
I need to get my small amount of old Epic stuff out of storage.
Cheers

I think it would have been better if they'd have put Space Marine Sergeants and Imperial Guard Officers on the new sprues, but we'll just have to make do sadly. I for one intend to track down second hand old ones on e-bay as I want those bits but thats annoying and hassle as otherwise I could have just bought the new boxed sets straight from GW and got them cheaper...
