There are really only three conditions that require their own symbol: March (Three Arrows) Overwatch (Crosshairs), and Broken (Exclamation), everything else is just activated or not. I have a friend who uses the arrow and blast to reward units for a good activation, and the cog and bolt to punish them.

The translation is poor because they are really just BFG Order Dice repurposed for Epic.

I use the ! to remember slowfire, the arrow and blast crits and the cog and bolt to denote activated.

I use the 3 arrows diverging as broken, Cog and sprocket for reloading, cross-hairs for OW/CAP and the exclamation mark for activated formations.

There is no hard and fast rules, just another thing to cover in the 5 min warm up.

I largely use the symbols as the same ones used for E40k:
3 arrows = march
diverging arrows = broken
lightning bolt and cog = reloading
crosshairs = overwatch

The exclamation mark i don't use but if then for activated formations.
The arrow and flash was supposed to mark assaulting formations. I don't use this anymore.

Thanks for the explanation. Yeah, shame Litko don't make a set of order tokens for E:A.

They do, more or less.

March requires a bit of tinkering, but you can either use these

Or get a customized version, using either template, with March written on it.
And there's a plethora of tokens that can be used for 'activated'.

Technically speaking they are Epic40k order dice that BFG also uses.

Really? I didn't know that. But then I never played E40K. Something new every day.
