I see what you're doing with the name, and it does sound kinda fun, but I agree that it's not exactly punchy and eye-catching. It sounds like a really obscure sub-group.

Index Astartes has other connotations I don't want to get into. A proper Index Astartes list (to my mind) would have a variety of optional upgrades to let you represent particular doctrinal quirks or alternate preferences. I'm kind of tempted to try it some time, actually.
Point is - when I hear Index Astartes, I think something very different.

At the moment, if I didn't stick with the Apocrypha I'd probably go with Steel Dogs, since it does sound vaguely like a ground-focused list.
