ouch, that'll be a tough game to win with Eldar. The only thing I can think of doing would be to knock out the 3 cheapest activations, ignore the others and try and keep enough fms alive to hold objectives. Eeek!

BTW AoC, I'm not sure if the time zones will help, but let me know if you ever want an evening (PA time) vassal game..

Oh man, I was hoping to keep this on the down low.

It was not a good showing for the Eldar, but I believe it came down to one critical assault where I managed to catch his Reaver intermingled with his snetinels with a token assault by my jetbikes. After the dust settled, I had a +3 advantage going into the resolution role, but ended up tying and continuing the assault, where I was destroyed as the Reaver was able to consolidate into range.

If I had won that engagement, I would have had free reign over half the board. Them's the breaks though.

I did fairly well considering I didn't know what kind of force I'd be facing. Also, I asked to play a 2000 pt game so I could get used to the Vassal interface. Heck, I hadn't even planned on playing that night, I just happen to be online messing with Vassal when AoC popped up and asked if I wanted to play. I kind of got in trouble with my wife for staying up so late, but I did have a lot of fun playing the game.

My list, btw:

50pts - Wraithgate
525pts - fully tricked out gaurdian warhost (waiting in the webway)
175pts - 3 nightspinners
250pts - 3 Falcons and 2 Firestorms
600pts - aspect warhost: DAs/SSs in Wave Serpents with exarch and autarch
200pts - 4 jetbikes + 1 vyper
200pts - 4 jetbikes + 1 vyper

I intended to play teh NetEA list, so if those points are off, then let me know (I only started looking at the NetEA docs once the game started and I needed to look up stats).

It's not a very optimal list by any account, but it performed commendably.

seems pretty good, though the 2 big fms are pretty large for a small game, plus having a 1/4 of your army with a limited deployment range (30cm assault from the webway, but lose the CC EA of the wraithlords) may not have helped. Plus, you should have had 6 jetbikes/ vypers total, not 5 :) I'm sure that's why you lost, so you have the moral victory at least (which is far more important!)

I had a good game against Sema and at first it was my intent to do a full battle report of the incident. However as the night grew late I found that my 2nd turn writings became squiggles on a paper and that I didn't even write up the 3rd and 4th turns. So I will give you the first and the remaining highlights of the battle.

AM PDF VS Eldar 2000

Turn 1
Strategy Roll: Eldar

Formation: Night Spinners
Action: Sustain Fire (Failed SC ReRoll)
Target: Sentinels (Left Side)
Results: No Hits, 1 BM

Formation: Reaver (Quake)
Action: Sustain Fire
Target: Aspect Troupe (Wave Serpents)
Results: Lost 1 Wave Serpent and Exarch Stand inside, 5BM

Formation: Falcons/Firestorms
Action: Double (Pop-Up)
Target: Sentinels (Right Side)
Results: Lost 2 Sentinels, 3 BM, Broken

Formation: Warhound
Action: Overwatch
Target: N/A
Results: N/A

Formation: Jetbikes (Right Side)
Action: Double (Pop-Up)
Target: Sentinels (Right Side)
Results: No Hits. 1 BM, Broken Already = One Lost Sentinel

Formation: Reaver (Gatling)
Action: March
Target: Move to Right Side Objective Forest
Results: N/A

Formation: Jetbikes (Left Side)
Action: Double (Pop-Up)
Target: Sentinels (Left Side)
Results: Warhound OW Popped, Killed 1 Vyper, 2 BM. No Firing Units Left.

Formation: Aspect Troupe (Wave Serpents)
Action: Marshall
Target: Self
Results: Clears all BM.

Rallies:
Jetbikes (Left Side) has 1 BM after ralley.
Sentinels (Left Side) Removes all BM. Clean.
Sentinels (Right Side) Failed. Broken.

I remember that on the 3rd turn I believe my Gatling Titan had the intermingled assault that proved to undo Sema master plan of taking the game. At the end of the 3rd turn neither of us has a Victory Condidtion I believe and so on we went. But by the end of the 4th I had taken (BTS, Blitz, TSNP) I feel may win was due to his inability to take out so many WE's, I did not tell Sema the list I planned on running nor did he tell me. Also my Quake Titan served to very devastating and in a larger game a Warlord version would be terrifying. For 800 points I had a Titan that could drop 2 templates of 6BP MW almost anywhere on the table, with a Warlord it would be 9BP MW at that same distance, 180cm.

It was a good match and I enjoyed our game even if I was slightly under formations than he. I wish there were more useful low point units I could have taken but I was limited to Sentinels or possibly some Thunderbolts.

With the minium Titans I had to take it was hard to forumate a list. I wish that for every Battle Titan I would have a Scout slot and a Support slot not 2 Scout slots and 1 Support as it is now. Possible idea would be...

Scout Choice:
Warhound Pack
Warhound Single
Recon Sentinels

Support:
Everything else.

Having 1 of each of the choice seems to better more balancing. I really didn't want to take a Warhound but I had no choice at the point values and structure limitations. Which forces or encourages Warhound Spam at low level games.
