Had a little fun over the weekend. Five of us had a 9k mega-battle across a 4x8 table. We put 3 objectives along the middle of the table. First side to hold 2 or more on the third turn of after won.

The SM, AM and BL side won it on the third turn. Our titans took a pounding (a Reaver and a Warlord were down to 1DC) but we managed to hold off the other Titans and take the center TL building and the ruined factory. The paper cathedral was contested in the third as well thanks to a couple strafing runs from TBolts and a landed Landing Craft.

The Indestructus II moves boldly forward.

We were hoping for strategy...

We got strategy, and won the assault (barely). Indestructus II made 17/20 saves!

The game took FOREVER, or it seemed that way because my frustration was boiling over for most of it. It was Tim, Chris, and Dave on the bad guy side, and Rob and I on the good side (no game is complete without a Matt, at least in the Northeast).

Dave, you've purged one of the few bright spots in the battle for Rob and I. No pics of the landing craft? What did it do on turn 1? The world wants to know... ;)

I wish my precious Indestructus II rolled to hit half as good as his saving roles, but he /is/ a lucky Cad. I'll take it, especially after the destruction of Indestructus I. My War Gryphons still make the pilgrimage to his smoking crater...

Oh, isn't that funny? It looks like I didn't take pictures of my LC assault...

Lack-luster attack rolls lead to a failed assault Turn 1 with a LC with Preds, Vindicators and Assaults on-board.

I need to find a job up near you guys. Anyone know of a biology department in desperate need of a worm biologist?

Indeed. It's now 1 for 2 in landing during a game.

Anything between Boston and New Haven would work really. There's Harvard, MIT, Tufts, BU, UMass, Brown, UConn, Yale... probably two dozen others. Take your pick.

You would have fit in well as a photographer in the USSR... "The photo is missing Joseph Stalin? Who is this Stalin you speak of, comrade?"
:P

Just due to "lackluster" attack roles? I'd say some badass awesomeness on the part of my warhounds might've had something to do with it ;D

UMass Amherst has a microbiology department...

I'll have to check all those out. Though sadly, my choosing them won't necessarily make them choose me.

1 out of 2, not bad. Good job you didn't spend so long painting it :)

I was going to make a pissy comment about Chris still not having painted his Juggers (juggers, not jugs) until I remembered that I haven't painted anything either...

Great stuff guys.

We've got our own Mega-Battle planned for Oct 3rd. There will be Imperators there...
Should be fun.

Set up, writing up army lists and lunch break took us till about 1. We finished around 7:30. Since it was 3 on 2, Matt and Rob each had 4500 points, while Dave, Chris and I had 3000 points. I had a whopping 5 activations!

nice :)

something like that's always an option if you guys want to come down here. I measured the boards I have and they're 8ft x 4ft, which should be big enough, right?

Yeah, 8' x 4' is big enough for a mega-battle.
