Proxying is ok, but I'm still tied to the original design of that army list as far as strategy, structure. and fluff. Ideally I'd like to see something like my Hammer's Slammers or Neo-Soviets, or what ever to match a TO&E and structure that matches the fluff for the models or the fluff in my head. If I proxy in Bugs for Tyrannids or near modern for IG, I'm not that far off. But what about some made up faction that has a whole different theme that I make up?
Basically I'd like to have FWC (which I like), except built on Epic. So instead individual units, thing activate as a group, the use of blast templates, etc. I realize that this is somewhat of a hypothetical discussion, but what if for example in the some created a new system without the GW lists and fluff, but had the core Epic mechanics, some basic list based on existing factions from other manufactures, and general guideline for basic unit specs. Maybe not even make it points based, only scenario base or something like Fast and Dirty or Stargrunt that the lists are just a TO&E, and the command groups operate based on that? For example, each functional command group represents a platoon or a company, and the hole battle is at a company or brigade level respectively?
And thanks for all the responses so far

I love these kind of discussions.
