Unless you are playing a very long game turns shouldn't be a problem.

Otherwise a giant d6 at the side of the board does the trick quite often.

As for formations many players use counters, BFG order dice or bits of paper to mark units that are broken, on overwatch, have activated, have marched, are recharging, are popped up, have taken a critical. Don't think there is anything else you have to remember.

What TRC said. I've rarely lost track of turns, but I have played with people that used a giant die to track it. I'd say BFG dice or colored tokens are the most common thing people use for marking activation status - green for overwatch, red for already activated, or whatever.

Either that or a sheet of paper per turn.

each formation, activated? status, BM's in little checkboxes

also quite useful if you want to write battle reports. means you get a mini history for each unit.

We always use BFG order dice to indicate activation. Good for showing Overwatch and Marching status, too. As to the turn, if you use the GW dice, the box is an excellent turn indicator. Otherwise, just use a larger/different die than your normal ones.

There is a big epic playing community at WHW who play weekly (Thursday nights?), just start a thread here and you'll get a game.

I didn't know that. When I'm back at the University of Nottingham, I might have to take an Epic army up with me, because I would like to play against some experienced players to get a better grip on the rules, as I haven't played enough under the current set.

As for the topic in question, I tend to use different coloured dice as markers for a variety of different things, but the old Space Marine order counters can still be used for these purposes if you have them.

Yup, every Thursday, from about 4PM onwards. I only manage to make it every other week mostly, but there's always a few people there.
