It sounds like a very '40k' mentality. X is broken because I haven't figured out how to counter it yet. Therefore, X should be removed/I won't play against X.

Have you showed him the "Golden triangle" strategy? Bunching all three objectives on a side together to allow them to be defended more easily?

Fortunately there is always another way to play...

Preparing to play this again next week and wondered if any thought was given to clarifying some of the victory conditions, namely the defender's? I can make my own and playtest that, but as Chroma clarified some of my questions on the Escort mission, was wondering if he had looked at this at all.

Hope this doesn't count as threadomancy...

But I reckon my mate and I will test this out for our Sunday EA game. We've got a dozen or so games of Grand Tournament under our belts, and we've both agreed it's time to try some different scenarios, with a mind to start doing little campaigns soon too.
I'll try and keep a record of gameplay so we can add to the playtesting data.
