A friend of mine ordered a set of hounds for each of us, which just arrived here in the states a week ago. The explanation given over the phone for their absence on the website was that they're going to overhaul the website, so some stuff they intend to bring back epic-wise won't show up until then.

The casting on them was really good, btw.

Ya, we ordered a month ago and they said they had 60 packs of the Hounds with VMBs and PBGs. The guy also said that the TLD/IC variant won't be returning.

They plan to re-mold as much as they can, but some stuff won't be returning (whether due to low sales figures or poor molds, who knows). He said they would like to get as much of it as they can back on-sale though, but its just all up in the air at the moment due to time restraints and so on.

With the new website done I'm not sure why more of the stuff they had hasn't been listed yet though.

Just spoke to a Forgeworld bloke, apparently the Epic Fire Warriors are definitely going to go back on sale... I shall abandon my intent to scratchbuild some then!

He mentioned that items with massive price tags such as £99,999 are placeholders, in that they possibly still have some left in stock if you ring up but they won't be recasting them, so once they're gone they're gone.

I'm a little curious though as to if any of the baneblade or superheavy tank variants other than the shadowsword will be coming back. I would have thought those were more popular than firewarriors.

These items are the ones in stock I believe. I ordered the warhounds purely online and they shipped them before I posted the trick to find them online (search for SG-EPC). I have not gotten them yet but I am guessing that they got stuck in the Royal Air Mail center due to the volcano so next week they will hopefully arrive.

As a further update to this, the return of the Epic Tau range has apparently now been halted.

Scratchbuilding project re-activated.

E&C, is this just the infantry (crisis, kroot, FW) that you're talking about or the stuff up on their site too (broadsides, recon, railheads)?

Communication wasn't entirely clear, but I had the inference that having failed to bring back some parts of the Tau range, they may not officially be returning much of it at all, if anything.

With the Skyray still available, at least conversions to make Devilfishes/Hammerheads will be easy enough.

Yeah, it'll at least make the heavier tau armor a bit easier to pull off. Honestly, the hardest hit part is the loss of crisis suits. With Recon, HH, and Broadsides you've got most of the iconic units outside of the devilfish and that's probably one of the simplest conversions but without crisis you really don't have any good options outside of scratchbuilds.
