So many questions....

The Soopagun is considered infantry, specifically, it's a character upgrade to a Big Gun unit. ?It trundles along at 10cm under its own power, but can be transported (presumably as a trailer) by any ork transport unit. ?As far as points cost, it comes out to about 70 points for a 2BP unit (20 + 50 for the upgrade). ?I think it might be an okay tactic as long as you take at least 2.

The regular and feral lists are separate. ?All the alternate lists will be self-contained for GT. ?Otherwise, you could just cherry-pick the best units from each list.

I think the Steam gargant is cheap based on the stats, but people who have playtested it think it is not as good as it looks. ?They think it might be a bit much, but just barely.

Steam gargants are supposed to be supastompa-sized. ?Personally, I am using some Railwars Automatons as proxies. ?I also think that regular sompas that had been appropriately "bulked up" could pass.

I'm fairly certain the E40K squiggoths will be re-released as the squiggoth models, although I'm not sure what they will use for the lesser squiggoths. ?I would like to see the older mammoth-style models re-released for them, but I doubt it will happen. ?I think the WM Salamander would make a good proxy with minor work. ?I've also been considering getting some Irregular Miniatures 6mm fantasy war mammoths to use, as they're only $1US each.

Whew... ?Hope that helps.

ps.  The quonsit hut with wings i.e. the Landa, is growing on me.

Thanks for the gen, neal hunt.
I agree the mammoth-squiggoth would be nice. I have a set of old ones, but they're abit too small.

The Landa does do that to you, doesn't it?
cheers.

Heres a pic of the Ork landa

Crimson

in future please can you link to the page rather than the image

Picture of Ork Landa

there are a  variety of reasons for this, but in the main it is the polite thing to do when the owner of the image is on these boards as well

Hi all,
on the occasion of my anniversary tomorrow (ok, I've been here one week now), and having not slept all night thinking of Ork Landas, I wish to propose the establishment of the Order of the Quonset Landier. Anyone at EpiComms with a vague interest in Orks is automatically a member. One member will be nominated the Prim Landier (preem lund-eer, from Maltese - master tinsmith - remember - Landa means tin can in Maltese), but can be challenged by other....
...ok, when you get to see preview images, you can get inspired (or carried away), and can't wait to buy 10 of the model concerned.
but - a preview means waiting: how many of you people out there do not wait and create your own?
And - in  the case of the Landa! - can we see these, knowing that work is already underway, from elsewhere in these pages?
Whoever presents the best Landa gets the title of Prim Landier. I'll be back in ten days with mine (not forgetting I had to present my Space Marine fluff colours three days ago, and not having not done so...)
Oh - er - should this be on the previews topic or the modelling ?  :o
cheers from the enginse - from the mekboy.

wee-eelll, Thundabad 1 - or rather, Thunderbird 1 - was metallic with blue and red details, 2 was green; 3 was Blood angels red (though they didn't know it back then) and 4 was yellow; whilst 5 was white and orange.....hmmm - remember the old multi-multicolour colour schemes of the Space Marine period?

cheers!  :L

The new Epic models are all looking really nice - especially the gorgeous looking SM Imperial Landing Craft on the Pic's of the Week section of the specialist games site. Didn't like it all that much when I saw the work in progress version, but the finished painted version looks great, and its really, really Huge! (that's a 60mm base its on by the way) :) Only thing that I noticed that seemed a bit weird are the landspeeder models - why does the lanspeeder tornado pictured in the pdf have only a heavy bolter and no assault cannon? Or why does the typhoon only have the typhoon launchers but no heavy bolter? Will I need to convert the models to get them to have their 'proper' weapons fit :( ?...

Firstly, let me offer a warm welcome to the Boards Glyn! Hopefully you will find it a usful and interesting resource - the regs arent (too) scary round here at least ?}:)

As for the weapons fits on the SM kit, Jervis has stated that the miniatures released will have the correct weapons fits as laid out in the army lists. That including such things as multiple weapons optionf for gargants etc within the gargant box. But nothing has been stated directly for any of the smaler vehicles that I am aware of.

I have not had any part in the SM range as yet (so far limited to IG, TL & Eldar test pieces) so cant give a definitive answer I'm afraid!

Sorry for such a useless reply to your first post! ?
