Ahhhh, thats where ive been going wrong all these years, i thought it was odd that i couldn't see bits of painty bacon rind on other peoples painting areas.
What you can get, that i find useful, is soap like stuff in a small pot, which contains brush conditioner. All you have to do is put some water on the brush, then rub it into the hard soap to work up a lather. Wash, rinse and repeat as needed, or leave it on the bristles for a  while to remove dry paint. Such products can also be used to re-shape the bristles.
