Second Epic meeting in Brittany (France).
Few people because of "Father day", "Music day" and others various IRL considerations.
So we were only 6 for a 3 '2500pts' games E:A day.

I play an Adeptus Mechanicus army (v1.09).

My 2500pts list :
Skitarii Demi-Century + Tech-Lord + 1 Hydra
Skitarii Demi-Century
Sentinel Squadron
Artillery (Manticores)
Flak
Reaver (2* Vulcain, 1* Laser Burner, Multilasers)
Reaver (2* Turbolasers, 1* Laser Burner, Multilasers) - BTS

Game 1 : Desert, versus an FrenchERC Alaitoc army

Webway Portal
Ranger Warhost (4 Rangers + 3 Walkers)
Guardian Warhost (2 heavy weapons + 3 Wraith Guards)
Sword of Vaul 1 (4 Falcons + 1 Firestorm)
Sword of Vaul 2 (5 Fire Prisms + 1 Firestorm)
Windrider Troupe (4 Jetbikes + 2 Vypers)
Aspect Troupe (4 Avengers, 2 Reapers, Autarch, Wave Serpents) - BTS
Nightspinner Troupe
Engine of Vaul Troupe (1 Scorpion)
Nightwings

Corner deployment

I loose Strategy. My opponent has more activations than me and he let me start, hoping be free to play the end of the turn. But he forgot my Manticores.
So I start with a roquet rain on Fire Prisms (2 dead) and Windriders (only BMs)
The Reavers deal with the Ranger Warhost.

Falcons, Nightspinners and Aspects open fire on Skitarii #2. In their building, they resist pretty well.
The Guardian Warhost exits from the Portal. So my guarnisoned Skitarii #1 set theirself in sniper mode with a heavy bolt in the head of each Wraith Guard ! (3 hits, 3 save rolls : 1, 2, 2. Oh ? they were Armor 3+ ? ^^)

Falcons and Aspects assault Skitarii #2, killing them all.
Turbolaser Reaver pass the building corner and manage to see the Scorpion, half hidden behind rocks. 2 damages ... and 'Champagne' (making a critical on an eldar super-heavy tank always make me think of uncapping a bottle of Champagne :D )
Then the other Reaver assaults the Aspects, with support fire form its titan mate. (I really like Laser Burners !)

On the other side of the table, Skitarii #1 face Winriders and Guardians during a 2 rounds assault. Both sides end broken. And the Avatar will come for a bloody retaliation against Hydras.
This side will be controled by the rallied Skitarii #1.

Nightwings ? I see them shortly at the 1st turn. They lay some BM before being cut in piece by multilasers and all my Hydras.

Victory 3-0 : Break Their Spirit, They Shall Not Pass, Take And Hold

The Eldar player was hesitated too long how to get ride of my titans. And he did not manage to concentrate his AT firepower. And with my 2 base-tobase Reavers, I killed everything coming too close. And Skitarii in cover on both sides of the titans give me enough time to clean the table.

Game 2 : cityfight, versus Karhadrim v3.4 Squats

Big Warrior Brotherhood (14 stands) - BTS
Berserk Brotherhood
Grand Battery (Thudd Guns)
Robot Cohort
Cyclops
Leviathan
Overlords Squadron

Cyclops take down most of Turbolaser-Reaver with Hellfury cannon (Doomstorm missiles were too short for 1cm). Leviathan tries to make Manticores Flat after these brang many BM (and dead bodies) to the Warrior Brotherhood.
Skitarri #1 repel Robot Cohort and come in support position near Cyclops. (I didn't hesitate to let them go out of the ruins because of the 5+ armour.)
I really fear the Cyclops, so I want to destroy it before it can open fire a second time. The Turbolaser Reaver manage to immobilise it (2 damage and a critical).

Berserks jump out of the ground under Skitarii #2 feet. But the Stategy roll give smiles to me.
I start with a move within 15cm of the Cyclops with the Turbolaser Reaver, but Overlords are the target (2 damaged war balloons). Then Skitarii #1 assaults the Squat war engine. A Tech-Lord in contact with a war engine is a really master of mecanics : construction, or in the present case, un-construction, he masters ! (1 CC4+ + 2 CC4+MW ... miam :) ). So was the short story of the Cyclops.

Skitarii #1 ends by being broken by Thudd Guns, while the others Skitarii taste Neutrons bombs from the Overlords. That is a fair compensation of the Manticore roquet rain upon the Warrior Brotherhood. The brotherhood will never have the occasion to make a single move ouside its ruins cover !
Overlords are finally repeled with a Vulcain-Reaver assault. So are the Thudd Guns with the Turbolaser-Reaver.
And with the remaining rallied Skitarii and a Hydra redeployment, I claim most of objectives.

Poor Squats, like Eldars, they are on the way of extinction ! :p

Victory 4-0 : Blitzkrieg, Defend The Flag, Break Their Spirit, They Shall Not Pass, Take And Hold

Here again, not contentrating his forces was deadly to my opponent. With a Leviathan to take my shields down and a Cyclyps for the final shot, I wouldn't have 2 still operational Reavers at the end.

Game 3 : forest walk, with FrenchERC Orks

Big Boyz warband (triple ?), with 1 SuperZap - BTS
Double Boyz warband, with 1 SuperZap
Double bikes warhand
Supastompa warband
Gargant
3 Fightabombas

I start to clean up some Boyz in the Double Boyz band with Manticores, Vulcain-Reaver and Skitarii #1.
Gargant and Turbolaser-Reaver starts a shooting duel.

Stompas walk toward my base (only protected with Manticores and overwatched Hydras).
Sentinels fall under Fightabombas bombs.
By the middle of the table, there is now a many people : the 2 Reavers and the 2 Demi-Centuries facing the Gargant, the 2 Boyz warband and the Kult of Speed.

By turn 3, Skitarii are wiped except Tech-Lord (having a Fearless Supreme commander is cool !). And athe the second try, Reavers wins their firefighting with the Gargant (at the turn 2, support fire form Skitarii was useful). The Gargant ends with only 2 stucture points ... and 2 fires ^^ Enough for a nice firework for the turn 3 end phase.

After the big melee in the middle, I catch the victory by a Hydra move (up to control my third objective and put a piece of Hydra track in the Ork half table).

Victory 2-1 : They Shall Not Pass, Defend The Flag versus Defend The Flag

Intense game versus countless Orks !
Well I finally won only because my opponent was an Epic beginer who was affraid of my overwatched Hydras. A classic 3 double moves of the Stompa mob would offer him easily my blitzkrieg base.

But the game was fun, and pretty tough in the middle of the table !

My 3 opponents were, at various levels, beginers in E:A. So they made some mistakes I used. And it must be take into consideration about my wide victories.

I thing the key with (or against) Adeptus Mechanicus is to concentrate formations, never spread too far. Reavers and Skitarii are hard to kill and do a lot of job.

Well played Flogus.  Was it a mini-tournament then?  Did your victories win it for you?

Nice report as well.  Good mix of description of the activations with your own motivations behind your tactics.

With a nasty army like your AMTL list I am not surprised that new players struggled against you.  Your tactics with your list were also spot on IMO.  And yes, Laser Burners are excellent (as most FF boosts tend to be).

cool games and great miniatures!

Depending on which ruleset is used, wraithguard have a 4+RA save, which would have made a bit of a difference.

From my perspective as an Eldar player, it appears that your Eldar opponent gave up one of Eldar's biggest strengths - its maneuverability and tactical flexibility - by feeding fragile formations to you in bite sized pieces. Taking down your Reavers by shooting is a tough ask (it takes a hell of a lot over several turns to take down just one), but a couple of tooled up Guardian fms (with wraithguard and wraithlords), one coming out of a webway (gate or stormserpent), another in support, would have done the job. Still, not an easy army to fight with or against for a beginner :)
