But surely if they see the orders come in from this tactical withdrawal we are fulfilling our own destiny by showing FW that there is a community willing to buy the models they produce. I can honestly say that I don't think FW will drop the line entirely - but have a much-reduced line and stricter casting controls.
See, you're trying to analyze this in a rational and business-minded way... that doesn't work when you're talking about GW/FW.
The GW response to "showing FW that there is a community willing to buy the models they produce" is, and always will be, "Why weren't they buying them before?" They took a "pass" on 6mm Necron models and 6mm Tyranid models that were going to be given to them for *FREE*. That's
no development cost to them at all... and they still said, "Maybe later." Thinking about that will put it all in depressing perspective.
Again, FW probably makes more from selling Leman Russ variants than all of the EPIC stuff sold combined... there's just such a bigger market for the 40k stuff.
I predict that Forge World will only keep the 6mm items that support the 6mm games they sell. Right now, that's just Aeronautica, so the models relevant to that will stay. If their Titan game comes out, Titan stuff will re-appear.
