I don't know how many of you look at the GW E:A forum so if you do, then you'll already have seen this. ?If not here's a few new pictures to look at. ?Enjoy!

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Hello everyone,
Today was the "Family Day" provincial holiday here in Alberta, so I did the family thing with the wife and kids! While I don't have time to give you a full blown battle report I thought that I'd at least share a few pictures and a few comments/observations/opinions with the forum on our game from last night. Enjoy
N.B. - This game was played several hours before the release of the v10 rules.
7K of I.G. commanded by John & Mark I. vs. 7K of Chaos commanded by Richard & Mark L.
Duration: 4 turns more-or-less & and one hell of a late night! Outcome: Stale-mate Objectives: None really - Kill or be Killed . . . . .
My army: 7K Chaos Army 1. Chaos Cultist Coven (Khorne - garrison) 2. Chaos Cultist Coven (Nurgle - garrison) 3. C.S.M.'s + 2 Havocs + 1Rhino 4. C.S.M.'s + 2 Havocs + 1Rhino 5. C.S.M. Armour: 4 Land Raiders + Daemonic Leader 6. Banelord Titan 7. Lord of Battles 8. Plague Tower 9. Plague Marines + Daemon Prince + 3 Sacrifices 10. Berzerkers + 1 Terminator + 1 Land Raider + 3 Sacrifices 11. Doomwings x 5 12. Firelords x 3 13. Noise Marines + 2 Predators 14. Noise Marines + 2 Predators 15. Questor 16. Subjugator 17. C.S.M. Armour: 4 Land Raiders + Daemonic Leader TOTAL POINTS: 6985 pts
Here's a picture of my Chaos forces: (much of which are in various stages of the painting process)

John's I.G. army:

Turn 1 - Battle in progress:
http://www.nucleus.com/~richdesn/7k/7kt1.jpg
Turn 1 - Nurgle affiliated Marines (not Plague Marines) and Iron Warriors Heavy Weapons teams come under fire atop a ridge:
http://www.nucleus.com/~richdesn/7k/7kt1a.jpg
Turn 2 - Taken moments before this happy little Subjugator is vapourized by a Shadowsword Volcano Cannon:
http://www.nucleus.com/~richdesn/7k/7kt2aSub.jpg
Turn 3 - Meanwhile on the other side of the battlefield Khorne Berzerkers work themselves into a blood frenzy before charging the Leman Russ Tank Co. outside of the ruins. Despite summoning in a Bloodthirster and several Bloodletters to aid in the assault the reinforced armour of the tanks proves to be too much for them.
http://www.nucleus.com/~richdesn/7k/7kt2bKhorne.jpg
Turn 3 - Battle, near end of turn (?) + Top left - Noise Marines FF an IG Art. Co., wiping it out! + Top Middle - a Warlord and the Banelord duke it out; eventually (next turn) the Banelord is toppled after receiving more then its fair share of combined enemy fire. + Middle left of Bridge - having abandoned their Plague Tower, the Plague Marines march moved across the bridge from the ruins (where the Nurgle Cult is still lurking) in anticipation of launching an assault on the IG Infantry Co. on the hill. + Bottom left - an Armoured Fist Co., Warhound, and Baneblade Co. mop up the Chaos forces in the region. + Bottom right - the Lord of Slumber (Battles) finally gets into the action after spending the first couple of turns failing its orders. In the following turn he would Assault the Baneblade Co. putting his chainfist to good use (destroying 1) before being driven off by the other 2 who were FF him. The LOB was invincible, did I ever make alot of saves on him!
http://www.nucleus.com/~richdesn/7k/7kt3battle.jpg
Turn 4a - Here's my personal highlight of the game. Chaos wins the initiative. The Plague Marines Launch their assault! (I see now from the pics that I forgot all about my Nurgle Daemon Prince, oh well, they didn't miss him!) 11 points are rolled to summon in Daemons. 1 GUO and 6 Plaguebearers attracted by the corrupt sacrifices materialize in the midst of the IG Co.
http://www.nucleus.com/~richdesn/7k/7kt4anurgle.jpg
Turn 4b - The GUO goes to town! Go on now, give daddy a hug.
http://www.nucleus.com/~richdesn/7k/7kt4bnurgle.jpg
Turn 4c - New Joke: Q. Where did the all the Imperial Guardsmen go? Answer: I don't (Burp) know (Belch) replied the GUO The GUO suffered 1 wound and 4 Plaguebearers were sent back into the warp before their time; the Guard died to the man!
http://www.nucleus.com/~richdesn/7k/7kt4cnurgle.jpg
All-in-all it was a very entertainig game.
The air phases which I didn't even mention were entertaining a fun in their own right but took a very long time to play out! In the 1st aerospace phase (during turn 2) Doomwings shot down all the Thunderbolts to the lose of 1 Firelord and 1 Doomwing. During the 2nd aerospace phase (during turn 4) Chaos had free reign of the skies with 2 Firelords and 4 Doomwings but unfortunately (depending on your POV I guess) only inflicted light casualties on the IG. Again very time consuming, almost a game within itself, but I (we) do like these rules. However, I'm interested to try out the new flyer rules to see how they work.
Again I'll say this, the Slaanesh Subjugator and Questor are just way too expensive for what you get. For the price of 250 I'd take a (shielded) Warhound any day. (Where is that Rebel Titan Legions list?!) These 2 W.E.'s, on their own, die too easily! Here's my two suggestions: either (1) drop the purchase price of both of them by at least 50 points, or (2) and this would be my preference (just to give them a different feel from other W.E.'s) give them back the old "Aura of Slaanesh' -1 to hit modifier when shot at by enemy formations. This would be interesting and Chaotic!
The Volcano Cannon seems too deadly, espicially the d3 Titan Killer effect. Maybe the Questor should be armed with a couple of these things!
The IG are actually pretty darn good at Firefighting. What they may lack in accuracy they certainly make up in sheer numbers. Mark and John were constantly rolling handfuls of dice. Very, very scary at times!
Anyway, I need to get ready for work tomorrow so I may add more to this in a later edit. Take care.

Hey guys,
I figure most of you have already seen this, but if you have I never saw any posts on it.
The supa stompa.
It looks like it has tracks for propulsion, and a real rag tag build quality. ?I like it.
Its the pic of the day (I realised you cant attatch stuff here).

I like it!
It is just in between the very boxy feel of the e40k range with just a hint of the rounder SM2 era models which means that it will fit in nicely with both ranges without looking out of place.
Cheers

I think it may be now Primarch, Jervis seems to be "streamlining" the Epic Ork's, as about every "older" vehicle is now something else....
Cheers

I've seen pics of the regular stompas, and they look pretty much the same. Unless they had labelled it wrongly, but it wasn't the exact same model. It never had that hammer thing, but was all gunz (3 of them).
Off topic a bit, what do people think of the Ork landa? I cant see a subject on it, so don't know where you all talked about it.
It's a nice model, but I'm not sure if it looks Orky enough. I dont know why, I cant put my finger on it yet. I think its the fact it looks streamlined.

I'm not saying I dont like the model, I really do. I think its just the fact that it looks so much like the ship that escapes from the planet Hoth in the Empire Strike Back, that takes away the Ork appearance. I will still get some

Hi!
We did talk about the ork lander but it popped up in another thread , I think its okay, not a bad model and it looks suitably orky...

I dont hate the hammer, but it may get substituted for a chainsaw. It depends upon how it looks in real life.
